Some of those Chrysler ball joints are pricey: they include the steering knuckle. But not THAT pricey!

First, find out what the parts cost from a parts store. Most all mechanics make money off the parts, and that's OK, but many times they make TOO MUCH!
Knowing what you can get the parts for is a helpful negotiaition tool.

That $700 figure might not be too bad if they are overhauling the front end: new tie rod ends, idler arm, pitman arm, control arm bushings.

It's a bit high just for upper and lower ball joints though!

Shop around. I'm sure you can find a better price.

Below is a link for a lower ball joint for a 1969 Dodge Charger (non-disc brakes) that I found on eBay.

I also found ball joints for your car on www.replacement.car-stuff.com. I put the full link below for the ball joints.

There are all sorts of sites you can look up on the internet. All I put in was a search for: 1969 dodge charger ball joint

Good luck!

Labor to replace upper ball joints 2hrs per side
Labor to replace lower ball joints 2 hrs per side
that's 4 hours labor @ from $35.00 to 150.00 per hour depending onthe Shops Labor Rate.

Upper Ball joints 50.00 per side for Moog
Lower ball Joints 65.00 per side for Moog

$700.00 is not to much out of line
