I am located in australia. the dealership I purchased the car from only provided me with one set of correct keys and two sets of incorrect keys(belong to some other cars). I realised the mistake late last year. I contacted them to seek the whereabout of the other keys with no success.
I made 2 duplicates of the keys but they cannot start the engine (because these duplicates haven't been programmed) Yesterday, I lost that only set of workable key. I contacted the dealerday again today to see if they can provide me with a new master key(that is programmed to match my car)
Their(the dealership) response now is: because you lost your master key, they cannot simply duplicate the key. but to change the system and the code of my car altogether and to manufacture a new master key for me. AT MY COST. which they quoted could be around AUS $2500 My dad suggested me to contact the toyota factory directly to get the code. He believes all the details are stored in their worldwide database

Could someone give me 3 or 4 different things that could be causing this, or maybe pin point the problem..it is really getting nerve racking. I can sit at a stop light and it just wants to take off. Also when I'm going about 30 mph or so I can feel it tugging then slowing, tugging then slowing. It's tacking around 2 and 3/4 when it revs up. Is something stuck or just wore out? Thanks for any kind of help !!

I have a 2003 Renault Megane, the warratny of which expires on 14 October. The passengers electric window SOMETIMES doesnt work so I think it will soon stop working altogether. Is this covered by warrenty? It's not actually broken at the moment but if it's going to go, I'd like to get it fixed before warranty runs out.

I have a 93 pontiac grand prix se with a 3.1L engine and it don't run I get a click from the starter and I just replaced that. Now the car has sat for about 3 years and I got it from my uncle for free so I won't complain about it.
Should I take apart the engine clean it up or just replace it? Because I think the engine is seized up but it could just be something else. Its got a spark from the center front of the engine when I try to turn it over. I think a short on one of the sprak plug wires.
I can get a engine for $505 or cheaper depending on the miles on it. could it just be the spark from the engine thats causing this problem. I have power to everything untill I try to turn it over then I have to diconnect the battery and reconnect it and I have power again. my car has 180,800 miles on it. So should I try to turn the engine over manualy or would that damage the engine?

My neighbors kids thought it would be fun to put afew gallons of water in some of the cars gas tanks people leave out over night as a joke well I got mine out fine but some of the subaru and pickup trucks the pump tube wouldn't go in enough to get the water out is there some sort of strainer inside some gas lines so as not to let large objects get in? we ended up taking the entire gas tank off afew and draining it that way and didn't see anything that should have blocked the pump tube.

I have a 1990 Chevrolet Camaro RS. It won't even turn over. Here's what's been going on... Recent mods to it have been making the air cleaning system an open element and installing an SLP exhaust with a high flow cat. My EGR valve isn't functioning properly and my idle was very unsteady and the Camaro was stalling. While the car was on, we disconnected the vacuum hose that leads from the EGR solenoid to the EGR valve to see if it would make a difference. The car eventually stalled out again, and when we tried to turn it back on it wouldn't even crank. We have the alarm on the car disconnected, but I noticed that the alarm light is now constantly steady instead of flashing slowly. Could my car not be starting because of some sort of anti-theft device? Any other reasons, other than a blown starter that you all can think of?

i got a feelin my starter could be toast, however, i noticed that there is quite a bit of oil and dirt on it. where the positive cable connects is probably gunked up too. when i turn the key, it just clicks. so this build up of crap on the stater-would that be enough to make it do that? i know that i do need a new cable but when i hooked up a fresh battery to it it started no prob. any insight appreciated coscho

I took my Grand Am 02 to repair a manufact. defect in the blinkers and they recommended I run a diagnostic check because my security light was on. This test basically crashed a microchip which broke my car. They said when they ran the test some microchip was faulty so the car wouldn't start and I had to pay them $350 to get my car to start again. I didn't sign any paper work just said yes to the $40 diagnostic test. Do I have any recourse? Do I have to pay for something that broke as a result of the test they ran? It seems very unfair. Thanks for you help.

My "low coolant" light came on yesterday. I tried to add antifreeze but had a problem -- the reservoir jug wouldn't take it.

The jug may have been full when I started the process -- it's a cloudy plastic, and dirty on the outside so it's hard to see in, and it's angled in such a way that you can't see when you remove the cap. (Lovely design.) I don't know if the antifreeze won't go down because of an air bubble or some other obstruction, or because it's already full. The light is still on, and I haven't noticed any puddles or leaks, though the antifreeze level seems to have gone down ever so slightly over night. (my imagination?)

Also, the fan doesn't seem to be running. When I turn the heat or AC on w/ the fan on high nothing happens.

Could the coolant light be on because the fan is inoperable, or are they two separate problems? Any ideas on what's going on? I'm going to take it to a mechanic Monday morning, but I'd like to be able to talk intelligently so I don't get swindl
