i have a small hole where my cat. converter bolts to the Y-pipe...the hole is just big enough for a loud ticking while driving. i was wondering...if i put silicone in the hole while it's cold, let it dry, and then start the car and drive it, will the silicone melt? and if so, what else could i do to patch the hole?

Alright I found this 1994 Toyota MR2, its in great condition as far as the body and only 56k on it, the guy wants 3000 for it.. Its a good price but my dad insists its not becasue the timing belt needs to be changed every 60000 miles and costs around 450 bucks, is this true that it has to be changed this often? Or is it he doesnt want me to get it.. I mean damn with the power it has and the gas mileage it gets you cant go wrong, especially its look too.. whats the verdict?

On my car, when I hit the brakes, the pass. side rear wheels tends to grab first and lock up and release repeatedly. If I ease into the brakes.. no problem.. The ABS light is on on the dash. I have removed the drum. Plenty of pad on shoes and lining is not scored. Backed adjustor off a bit, solved problem for about two week, but doing it again not.. Advise?

I drove to and from work on 9/20. I arrived home at 3 pm and around 6 pm I got into my car and it would not turn on. I ended up jumping the car successfully and I have automatic lights that came on. I fooled around with the radio and heater and the lights started to dim as I turned each on. I shut off the radio and heater and put the car into reverse. When I let off the breaks my entire car went dead. Is this a problem with the battery, alternator or maybe the circuits that charge the battery? If you have any ideas, please let me know.

I have replaced the MAP, the sparks, the wires, the coil pack, the fuel filter, throttle bare. Fuel pump is fine so I've been told, same with the injector. Car idles when I start it but the second I shift it goes dead. Not a violent death; just straight to the board.

My car was running just fine before.
I brought it into Sears to have new tires put on. Over the past few days since I got my tires changed, my back wheels make clicking noises and the wheels do not move as soon as I give it gas... these problems both got worse.

I took it back to Sears and they shrugged their shoulders and told me there was nothing they could do and refused to give me their managers number. Even when I pointed out that there were lug nuts missing from the back tires...

What should I do?

I have cleaned the throttle bottle, changed fuel filter, check alternator and charged battery up. Every now and then can get it running for longer than 3 sec and it does good but when I shut it off the problem starts all over again. I have put it on a computer and it doesn't pop any codes. Please help. Have asked many mechanics and no one has an idea.

I have noticed that my gas mileage sucks. I can go 3 miles down the road and my car will drink about 15 miles of gas. My car is also reved up at a high R.P.M. and seems to not want to shift into over driver. The car is a 1990 lincoln towncar. (DAMN FORDS)

How in the heck do I get to this thing? I can see it, but it is literally buried.

Can't get to it from underneath or from above.

I got cooling hoses, A/C hoses, and some plastic thing that sits on top of the block and hooks onto the throttle body.

Underneath I have general suspension/engine parts make it difficult to reach, let alone get a socket on it to undo any bolts.

Again, here's the details:
Make: Chevrolet
Model : S-10
Engine: 2.2L SMFI
Manual
2 Wheel Drive

Really can't say as I can afford to pay to have it fixed, I've done alternators before, just not with this much stuff in the way.
