Anybody have a clue what could cause that? It happens whether the car is moving or idle, and whether or not the wheel is turning.

Just pushing on the accelerator causes it, and the harder you push, the louder and higher the noise is. It isn't real loud, but definitely noticeable.

We tried adding more power steering fluid, and replaced the power steering unit, because it sounds just like the noise you will get if you cramp the wheel to right or left and strain the power steering unit. But the noises persists.

It has a digital odometer & speedometer, and that crazy DCL that only works about 1/4 of the time. We bought the car used at a great price, it has 130,000 miles, but still runs pretty well, other than just a few annoying problems that are hard to solve.

Or do I have to take it in? About how much should that cost, if so?

is this pretty simple? i want to learn how to tint windows and i watched someone do it once before, it didn't look like rocket science to me. it actually looks real simple.

take the Lumar tint film, cut to the window specifications, spray down the window with water and soap, put the tint over it and use a squeege to get the air bubbles out, then use a hair dryer to heat it up for a few minutes.
repeat it again for the next window.

is this correct??
am i missing anything in my procedure?
please let me know. i want to be 100% correct in how to tint a car window.

thanks.

sometimes when taking off the truck will stall and die if you dont let off the gas. but if you shut it off and start it back it will run fine. also when the engine warms up you loose overdrive and the motor will always shift around 3000 rpms but again if you cut it off then turn it back on it will run fine any suggestions

I live in Stroudsburg, PA and am looking for a place that I can get a good deal on a windshield. Most places want 300.00 or more. Is this reasonable? I lived in NY before and I know that I could go to a junkyard and probably get one for less than 200.00. This is not exactly that kind of place so I am not sure if I should pay or keep trying.

Please advise.

2003 Chrysler 300M Special with 7500 miles

2006-08-18 14:27:43 · 10 answers · asked by Anonymous

It's a 1995 VW eurovan with 171k miles. The transmission was already rebuilt at 146k but I think I feel it slipping at about 1500 rpms when going from 2nd to 3rd and other times usually with rpm's < 2000. Will it save money to do it sooner or just let it go?

i have to replace the alternator

2006-08-18 13:19:40 · 2 answers · asked by Anonymous

Took my Buick up the canyons long rather steep road. Halfway up, the engine starts overheating. We pull over, pop the hood.....and the fluid in the recovery tank is boiling. I can hear fluid leaking out the bottom, and I can see it dripping aggressively. We let it cool down for an hour or so....go back down the mountain. Warning light is fine...only halfway.
I JUST took the thing in to have the cooling system checked last week, because I found a small puddle, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 cup of fluid in the driveway, under the car. I couldn't spot a leak...and there wasn't a drop in cooling level. I checked the oil, not milky, assumed it wasn't gasket, but maybe water pump or thermostat. The guy said it was fine and checked out fine.
Given it has been a ridiculously hot summer, but today I SAW it leaking after it overheated. Now it's not leaking or dripping or anything. Although I still haven't added more coolant since the level never noticeably dropped...What's going on???

I recently noticed that my cars timing belt is expose under the chasis, and under the hood. I think its supposed to have a cover, but im not sure if the cover also covers the bottom of the timing belt. It seems like it should, i mean its basicly exposed to the elements and any thing under my car.

In simpler terms, when i look under my car, i see the timing belt. Is this OK? Do any of you have exposed timing belts?

Winters coming and i want to make it through with my car intact!
