i own a repair shop in Tennessee and i recommend that you go with the synthetic oil,,i use it in all my vehicles,,and have also been changing some of my customers vehicles to it,,everyone seems to be really satisfied with it,,i too am real pleased with the results from running it,,and i think you will be also,,one thing really good about it,is the amount of miles that you go on it,,it is recommended that you go at least 6 thousand,,an to me that means savings,,as well as dependability,,i have over 150 steady customers that i do service for,,and i have not had one complaint from any of them o it,,i hope this help,s,,i did forget to add that if you do change to synthetic,,Mobil one is the best i have used yet.

Go with Synthetic, a good synthetic. Mobil1 is great. If you can get it, Royal Purple is about the same price and it's awesome. The above people that say to use regular must not have experienced Mobil1 or Royal Purple. In fact, if you want to have a fun test, get a car with atleast 60,000 miles and preferably older that has always had regular in it, and put in synthetic. You will literally hear and feel the engine run smoother. Less engine noise, better gas mileage and better performance.

NOTE: Some people get oil leaks when they change from regular to synthetic. I changed 5 cars over to synthetic from regular and never had this problem - but it's allegedly a problem for some people.

P.S. Check out my source, it's a very interesting page. Royal Purple actually smooths internal surfaces in the engine over time.

Use what the manufacturer recommends. I use Synthetic in My BMW, but that is what BMW specifies.
All of my other vehicles use regular motor oils. I have never had a oil related failure in any of my cars or trucks. In have been driving over 50 years. Keep your oil clean and stay away from Jippy Lube.
I have included links with some good reading on "Oil Myths", from perspectives on both sides of the issue.

Castrol Synth-blend or regular Castrol Oil.. Have been use these in all my vehicles for 30 years. Change all oil and filters regularly. I ran my 1994 454 Suburban to over 325K on 10K mile oil changes without any problems and same on my 1989 3.8L Bonniville the same has 242K on it now and runs like a champ, does not burn oil and every oil change the oil is still carmel colored even after 10K to 12K miles.

Also for a high mileage engine (over 150K) every 4 changes run through a quart of Marvel Mystery oil, helps clean out the crude. Also good for putting in the gas now and then as well.

Love your car, it will treat you well.

the only thing for regular oil is you change it more offthe as long as you change it requarely the say3000 more like 5000 miles , it will do well i still like the the synthetic's cooler and slippier good luck just keep any oii; changed every 5000 miles and your filters too?

use what the manual says. but synthethic would probably be better over long term. but be ready to pay $. I use motorcraft synthethic blend from Walmart at like $2.30 a qt. not $4-5 a qt. but I still get some properties of synthethic oils.

It really makes no difference as long as you change your oil regularly.
