that should have a 2.2l in it. the crank pulley has a mark and the cam pulley has a mark. when you look at the cam gear there will be a little "o" ( 2 of them) on the front of the gear and they will line up with the valve cover mounting flange on the head and if i remember corretly there should be a down arrow (maybe) in a hole on the cam gear that will point down when the "o's" are lined up. now the crank gear has a "v" cut into it and there will be a mark on the the block that fits into it when the crank gear is right.
the distributor drive shaft should be like the crank shaft gear and you can also remove the dist cap and make sure the rotor points to number one spark plug wire. if all else fails go to the library. and if the belt broke there is a good chance you bent valves
