Move the steering wheel a little to release the pressure on the keyway.

Also, you can take some WD-40 and spray it into the keyway to loosen the lock up a little.

Jiggle the steering wheel back and forth forcefully while you're trying to turn the key. The power steering has put the steering in a bind.

I agree with the steering wheel binding the lock. But I don't agree with spraying any kind of lubricant in any lock cylinder. All it does is attract dust and dirt, effectively gumming up the lock cylinder. Always use a dry graphite lube for lock cylinders.

It's 10 years old and probably over 100000 miles so it's burning a bit. Live with it but don't run low. Keep a couple of quarts in the back in case the loss catches you out some time. Never drive one foot with the oil warning light on.
