I have had bad luck with Dodge's. Had one catch on fire while driving on the highway. Had one blow an engine. Had one blow a transmission.

I have had good luck with chevy. Ford is okay very inexpensive to fix the small problems that go on.

The latest car I bought I tried to go a little higher end and bought a Saab. It is great car no major problems but the bad thing about an expensive car is it is expensive to fix. So when they do go it is expensive.

I have heard mechanics say that Volvos's break down all the time and are very expensive to fix. I also always seem to see many Volkswagens on the road with exhaust leaks.

This use to be a comon belief, but I do believe that it has faded over the years. Did you know that our federal government banned the import of the original VW Bugs becasue they were lasting too long. Yup, you can't find one that is newer than 1972, that is when the ban went into effect...the end of 1972. They felt that something that lasted so long was bad for the economy!

Yes, some manufactures even say so in their name. Take for instance FORD. It stands for First On Rubbish Dump
