That is not how the idler works. Between the alternator and a/c compressor is a 5/16 or 8mm bolt head that is almost horizonal look closely. after you loosen the center nut in the idler turn the 8mm bolt anti clockwise to slacken the belt. Tension the new belts, yes you are buying two new belts arn't you? The power steering pump has a nut behind the adjuster bracket loosen it and lossen the belt by turning out anticlockwise on the 12mm horizonal adjuster bolt. Tension very tight with two fingers you cannot flex the belt in or out more than 3/4 inch 19mm along the longest side of the ribbed belt.

try the right and if that doesn't work then try left
