I live in Stroudsburg, PA and am looking for a place that I can get a good deal on a windshield. Most places want 300.00 or more. Is this reasonable? I lived in NY before and I know that I could go to a junkyard and probably get one for less than 200.00. This is not exactly that kind of place so I am not sure if I should pay or keep trying.
Please advise.

To the cheeze cop - I didn't even think about checking with my insurance company. Yes, it was the cause of a stone hitting the windshield.

Try Diamond Auto Glass. I live in Bradford County, PA and that is what we use. Did you get a stone chip? What is your deductible with your insurance? Sometimes it can be as low as $50. Check with insurance company first.

If you call 8-10 places and they are all the same price, then you shoudl stop. You might be able to getr a better deal if you offer to pay the place cash instead of credit card, if you can.

If it's 300 installed, I'd say that it's a good deal. Junkyarders aren't all that good, because it's very difficult to take it out without breaking it. If you do choose to get it there, it's a good idea to pay them to remove it, that way if they break it you don't pay for it.
