Where is the fuel cut off switch on a 1996 vw golf?

it has one on it,,it,s located in the trunk behind the removable panel on the left side of the car,,and it has a button on it,,when you press down on it,,it will reset it,,if it pops back up,,you may have a fuel pump going bad,,or a bad switch on it,,i own a repair shop,,and i have worked on a few of these before,,i may be wrong on the side,,it may be on the right side,,i work on so many it is real easy to get confused,,i hope this help,s.

should be on the bottom of the tank on the line. they may not have one on it either. just follow the line if it has one you'll find it . it may also not have a filter.
