It started out with this weird problem were it would die and lose speed when I put my foot on the gas, and it got wosre over time. At first I could restsrt it right away, but eventually I would have to let it sit for hours and then it would mysteriously started working again. It began happening more and more frecquently, and now, it won't even start. It seems like their may not be fuel getting to the engine. It had a quarterof a tank of gas and wouldn't start until I added a few gallons to that. then i was able to drive it home. Now again it won't start. I'm guessing that maybe my fuel pump is out, or the fuel filter is clogged, or something else is wrong with the fuel line. It is an 1985 Ford Ranger, V6, 2.8 L, with 4 wheel drive, and the auxillary gas tank. Ideas?

I have a 2006 honda civic SI to which i'm about to turbocharge and try to get from 197 hp, to over 300(other mods too, of course) how many years do you think this would take off my motor, if i'm only ripping on the engine once a month, just the occasional race or two?

Thanks to you all that answered my last on , This is what happened , I was using my 52 in mower and noticed a little wobble ,so I thought a belt was ready to break , I checked the oil at that time and it seemed fine ,the belt had a few cracks in it ,So I replaced the belt and i still felt a wobble ,not a huge wobble but when you use something all the time you notice a diffrence in the way its running , So I checked the oil once more and this time it was dry as a bone ,I put a quart of oil in it then started it up ,thats when the oil started coming out of the top of engine , turned it off checked oil and was way to full , Is engine still good What sould I do , Why would oil register full on minute and dry a few minutes later

Need to one-time start a 1950 Plymouth and don't want to buy a new 6V battery for this one occassion. I prime it with gas and it usually starts right away. Will make sure radio and lights are off. There is nothing else in the electrical system that worries me except the voltage regulator. Will I cook it?

Do I need to isolate the 12V battery in the other car by disconnecting cables for any reason?

If this won't work, is there any simple way to step down the voltage for a one-time deal?

Thanks!

I have an older Fourtrax 300 2-wheel drive ( just bought) and I can't get it into reverse. Cable is hooked up and moving the lever, but it will not engage. I don't have a manual and I'm leary about opening it up. Anybody have any ideas on what may be wrong and how to repair or adjust?

I have Acura MDX 2003. When I apply brakes while turning when coming down the slopes, it makes skidding noise even at low speed of 10 MPH. I would like to know what could be the problem and which part I need to replace. Please advice.

Some time ago, the oil pressure light on my car started flickering. I went to a shop and they told me the oil pressure switch (sending unit) was leaking oil and they changed a new one. A few days later, the light came on again and I went back to the shop. They told me the unit was bad and they changed another one for me without charge. A couple of months later, it started flickering again. This time, the shop told me that the unit was burnt out due to low oil level as the oil level was about 1 quart from the maximum line. Still, they said they changed the unit for me since it’s still under warranty but they charged me for the labor.

Here is my question. Can oil pressure switch (sending unit) be burnt out that easily just because of low oil level? Where can I find product specifications or other helpful information? Is this normal practice for repair shops?

It's an '84 Toyota Corolla. If I open the door it is hard to close. The best way to do it is to push the lock down and close it firmly but sometimes this doesn't work so my bf sprays WD40 somewhere in the door mechanism. Any other suggestions?

accelerate very well. When I stop at a red light, it takes a while to get going again and get through the green light. This has led to a lot of embarassment because I'm sure other drivers behind me are getting really annoyed. Once the car gets warmed up it is fine for the rest of the day. I've tried letting it run awhile in the driveway but that doesn't work; in fact I let it run too long while waiting to drive my daughter somewhere that I finally went and shut it off. The result was that it wouldn't start so I had to spray "quickstart" in the carburator.

I just went to a collision repair center - I have a very low to the ground Saturn SL2 and a blown-out tire got caught in the bumper on the freeway. Damage, yes. However, on the estimate, this place wants to charge me for a new A/C condenser. My A/C works just fine - what's up with this?
