ok I think my fuel filer is clogged on my 98 400 kawasaki prarie where is it located at on the quad and if it is clogged would my quad start up then the engine would stop all of a sudden i need help im a girl and know nothing about this! but i do know i love my quad

hello sweetheart, first thing to do is drain the fuel float bowl on carb, there should be a drain screw to do this, drain into small container so you can check it, does there seem to be sufficent fuel in the container and is it clean? Rusty fuel would indicate a possible clogged fuel system. More likely check the ignition impulse sender that reads off the flywheel, might be an open circuit in the fine winding that is causing loss of spark. Good Luck

If it is the fuel filter it would not suddenly stop. It would either not run or would only run with now power. If you really love your quad you should learn about the mechanical aspects. Take a basic training class. Being a girl is no excuse not to learn, at least the basics. You should have an owners manual, so check it out, i.e. read it cover to cover.
