If the timing belt breaks, will that event destroy the engine? I don't know for sure what type of engine I have, but I know some engines if the timing belt breaks the engine will not be destroyed, but I know in some engines the breaking of the timing belt wrecks the engine (example: 1980's models of the Ford Escort).

I work in an automotive center and people have the dumbest questions and if they would look in their manual they wouldn't have to ask the dumb question!
Is it just easier to have someone else read it for you or do they just not understand the manual because things are so much more complicated now days?

I have a 2001 ford mustang gt My car turned off yesterday and when I turned it back on it said check engine. AutoZone told me it was the crankshaft positioning sensor (they used the device they have to check the code ) and I changed it but after a while the light came back on and the sensor got messed up again. What could the problem be? What causes a crankshaft sensor to go bad?

bought a 1994 olds and it has to run for about 10 minutes before it will shift into gear. It seems to run fine after that. Haven't driven it much, want to check everything out first. It had only been used a few times in the past year. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have had oil changes and showed proof to the MFG but they still state it was not taken care of. (yes they are recent) I have taken it to a mechanic and they quoted $650.00 for repairs of a bad piston I just do not want to get taken for a ride. Young and Female and unfortunately
not knowledgeable on car repairs. It cranks over but has a bad knocking noise while running losses power right away. Well I hope I can at least get some info if this is worth the time and $$$. Thanks for reading and thanks if you answer!!!

I have a '95 Ford Ranger with 255 70R14 tires on 14 inch wheels. Just looks a little puney. Can I put 15 inch wheels with taller tires on it? Has anyone done it? What is the bolt pattern for this truck? Got any other ideas? I don't want a swamp truck, just want to make it a little beefy looking without going overboard. Thanks!!
