The axel and cv joints is the first place I would look too but you may have an exhaust leak at the manifold. It will produce a similar sound to what you are describing.

Pitiac eh? Is that a second cousin to a Pontiac? Have it looked at, could be your front tire is about to fall off. If it does when you going fast you will have to pay for the tow and the cars your going to hit because you can't steer.

You need a cv shaft replaced. Very common problem. Not hard to fix if you aren't afraid of hard labor. It will cost you around $200-$300 at a shop.

More than likely it's the CV boot that's torn. Get it fixed before further damage is done to the shaft. And it's Pontiac!!

it most likely has something to do with your CV boots.. these make your car move on your front wheel drive car.... they most likley will need to be replaced... if it is on the passenger side, it could be from hitting the curb many times.
