I have a 1998 Chevy that has nearly 200,000 miles. I've always changed the oil & filter at 3,000 miles. I've rebuilt everything on the vehicle, except the motor itself. Was wondering if I could extend the motor's life if I changed to synthetic oil for the oil changes. Anyone have any advice ?

Hi, my rear view mirror has come off the windscreen of my Renault Clio. I have tried special sticky patches from Halfords, glass glue and ordinary superglue and none have worked. The mirror itself is quite heavy. Does anyone have any suggestions for a quick setting strong glue for this? Or any other alternative? Thanks.

This is the same person as last time with the '74 Dart. I was in an accident a while back. I was hit from the side and the frame is slightly off in the front but the allignment of the driveshaft to the diff. is still perfect. The joints still break every week. I'm thinking about getting a new pinion yoke. It just stumps me how the car can have the same joint for 30 years and then all of a sudden break every week. The car drives smooth as ice each time i put a new joint in. No noise or vibration besides the mild clunk i get when putting the car in gear and letting off the gas when cruising. The bearing cups fit into the pinion yoke farily easily and turn easier when tightened down then all the other bearing cups on the rear and front U joint of the driveshaft (that have never broken, i might add) . Are they supposed to turn so easily or are they supposed to have a little bit of resistance?

I am an ASE certified mechanic, but transmissions aren't my strong point. 96 Chevy 2wd pickup. extended cab, with a 4L60E
Transmission. Replaced front pump seal, because of leak. Leak came back after 15 minutes of driving. Torque converter snout
is clean and free of scratches. Fluid runs out of front seal when
vehicle is running, and pours out when you shut it off. Owner of
vehicle said trans has only 25,000 miles on it. Is there a "speedy
sleeve" or something I can do to get the leak stopped? HELP!!!!!!!

My '06 xB was recently "slightly" side-swiped. :o/
The damage isn't bad really(other than the front driver's side fender that needs to be replaced). I'm trying to do this as inexpensive as possible. I've looked through many, many search pages and haven't had any luck in finding that part for under $150. I know it is possible to get one for under that price, because a local body shop has them for that price, but I would have to have the body work done by them which is way out of my budget. Any help or suggestions would be great...
salvaged, used, after market (if there is such a thing for this model yet), etc.

Thanks in advance.

I am building a custom Jeep Wrangler and I want to put a Dana 300 transfer case in it. I have access to several 70's Wagoneers. The transfer cases in the Wagoneers have the tags on them. What letters or numbers do I look for to identify the transfer case as a Dana 300? I also want Dana 44 front and rear ends. How do I identify a Dana 44 front end and rear end in a Wagoneer? What numbers or letters am I looking for on the running gears to identify them as Dana 44?

I'm having difficulty deciding where to purchase body parts for my son's car. For instance, I can find a front left fender for about $90 at several online auto parts sites, or for about $35 at just as many other sites. What's the difference? Why should I pay the extra? And how do I track down the doors at salvage yards (or do I have another option)?

Thanks!!!

My 2000 neon is leaking oil. Repair shop says it is leaking from the rear main seal. What should it cost me to have this repaired?
(I was told they would have to pull the trans.)
