im doing headgaskets on 4.6 northstar need to know the torque and trying to find a book that shows details on this motor .the haynes repair book dont show nothing on it, any ideals, please let me know .also ineed to get the timing marks aline so any idea where i can get this book or the name of it will help.it is for 1996 cadillac concours 4.6 nice car to junk so im trying to fix it

The timing marks alone should scare you! The Northstar engine marks only line up once in over sixty revolutions and the timing chain is about as long as the car. With four cams multi guides and tensioners and idler sprockets and just how you have to go about removing the engine to do head gaskets properly. Your GM dealer will give you a phone number to call to order a service manual they run about $140 dollars. Or 450 dollars for all GM cars that year on CD ROM good luck

Go to the Reference section in your local library and find a service manual for that car/engine. You can also get manuals at your local auto parts store.
