Hi, my rear view mirror has come off the windscreen of my Renault Clio. I have tried special sticky patches from Halfords, glass glue and ordinary superglue and none have worked. The mirror itself is quite heavy. Does anyone have any suggestions for a quick setting strong glue for this? Or any other alternative? Thanks.

Loctite superglue was the type I used.
The mirror doesn't have a mount (I hate that).
There's no such thing as Kmart in England.
I cleaned the windscreen and the base of the mirror with white spirit.
Just so you all know :)

That happened to me a few years back. I took my car to a window tint/auto accessory place and asked them for advice on how to fix the problem. One guy grabbed a spray can of something, followed me to my car, sprayed the stuff on the windshield, and stuck my mirror back on.
He said, "No problem." And there was no charge!
And no, I'm not a hot, sexy babe! I have no idea what he sprayed on there...some kind of super-adhesive. Anyway, you might try the same approach at your auto supply store. Can't guarantee you'll get a nice clerk like I did, though.

Halfords sell a mirror that sticks on with a suction cup, which is excellent, though temporary.
I found that the Glass glue from Halfords was ok, but you really needed the glass and the mirror to be perfectly clean.
Next when you fasten it up, chock it up with a bit of wood for at least 24 hours. I used a 3foot pole wedged againt the handbrake.
Worked for me.

Check any auto parts store. They sell an epoxy made especially for glueing the rear view mirror back on, and it really works. If you have a small piece that is a mount, glue that on and let it dry before hooking the mirror on. Super glue will not work, too brittle when dried. Good luck.

Go to a windscreen centre and ask one of the tech's to reapply it for you. It isnt the glue or the pad you use thats the problem. Its making sure the windscreen is perfectly clean and grease free.
They will have the correct cleaners and adhesives.
