Yesterday i was involved in a minor fender bender in california of which was completely my fault and i took full responsibility. I gave the other driver all my registration info and made sure there were no injuries to her which there werent. The damage to her back bumper was very minor and was mostly just paint from my license plate on her bumper with minor paint damage. The problem is that i dont have liability insurance until today and so i cant give her a policy number or anything till today. She knows this and said that was fine because her insurance company will probably just call mine. I'm wondering what if any the consequences will be for me not actually having the insurance at the time of the accident. I would assess the damage to her car to be no more than $1000 which is more than covered by the california minimum for liability. I am getting the insurance today but i;m just wondering if any consequences could arise? Thanks to all who answer!!!

I got in a car accident and I do not want to take my car to a crappy shop for my bumper to be fixed. It will be around $1,000 at my place of choice but I'm nervous the insurance company will low ball me. Can I negotiate with them?

I have a 97 Expedition which was in EXCELLANT condition. I was recently hit in the side. I have had a couple estimates done, but have heard because of the age of the vehicle and the total amount for repairs they will probably total it out. It is still able to be driven. This car is the vehicle that hauls my entire family when we are all riding together. I would like to have it fixed. I wasn't sure how they deciede on totaling a vehicle out and how they determine the amount to be given for the vehicle. Especially to replace it. I am very worried about the outcome of this disaster!! :( The accident was not my fault and the lady who hit me has admitted fault in the police report. Along with other eye witnesses. Please help with any info anyone has to offer!!!

Would my insurance premium that I pay each month increase because I file claims that are not my fault. For example I have an expensive car and people like to slide there keys and scratch it so I file a claim about a keyed car about once every 2-3 months or when someone comes and parks behind me and hits me... If I file a claim a lil too often will my insurance go up even though its not my fault .... Im with Geico

A few days ago, I was stopped in rush hour traffic behind a semitruck that was hauling two big containers hitched behind it. I stopped far enough away from it that the driver would be able to see me behind him / her, as traffic was stop and crawl speeds. At one point the semitruck suddenly lurched a bit forward then began rolling backward toward me in my truck.
I thought it would stop, but as it continued rolling back toward me i began honking my horn to make sure driver was paying attention and would stop, but the semi backed all the way into me and pushed my truck back for another 2 seconds, even though i tried backing up & honking to avoid getting hit without hitting the people behind me.
I honked my horn again as the driver began to slowly drive away. He / she never stopped to make sure i was okay, apologize or exchange insurance info for legal reasons!
I got the plate on back of trailered rigs cargo on wheels (dont know what their called ), but was told by my insurance

I have just recently filed a claim on my insurance (uninsured motorist). My truck was totaled at $23K. Last night a drunk driver hit the car parked next to mine, totaled that one and in turn that car wrecked my truck. The drunk driver totaled his camero and ran off last night without being identified. More than likely he will be identified, but I assume that he does not have insurance. I dont want to file another claim because I assume my insurance will stick it to me hard. What can be done either through legalities or other car insurances?

I had to go through my own insurance company to get the damages taken care of since the driver tried to take off before the police apprehended him. Between deductibles and rental car costs alone I have had to pay over $1000! Parts of it I've submitted to the County DA for restitution. However, if this doesn't suceed, what legal course of action can I take?

My wife just noticed her driver's license has expired. She has aready renewed it over the web but the new DL will only arrive in 15 to 20 days. As she needs to drive before the new DL arrives, what happens in case of an accident? Will or can the insurance company deny any claims based on the expired driver's license? We live in Houston, TX.

I skidded on some water in the road and i drove into the back of a car. the front of my BMW z3 was slightly crushed and needs £1300 to fix it. The other car and driver were fine!!
My question is that he drove of and has only contacted me today for insurance details i was hoping to do this without involving them as my policy would go sky high. Has he left it to late and what happens about the time scale.

thanks

I am claiming for a stolen vehicle.

There is a sheet I need it fill called, Request to the Insured for consent to disclosure of information held by the police -

Is this for if I have endorsements on my licence (I don't?) or does everyone making a claim have to fill this in?

Also - when it asks for contents and value of contents what am I supposed to put? For example - my handbag was stolen which cost £400. I put £400 in Price Paid, but what do I put in 'Value' - do I put the same amount of decrease it a little due to depreciation?
