I have a 2004 Cadillac Escalade that I got in an accident with. The damage is $16,400 and there is $27,000 left on the payoff. I found out my insurance cancelled the month before because my debit card number on file changed, and I was out of town didnt get the notice etc. Doesnt the lienholder automatically put coverage on the car when they receive notice of insurance cancellation and isnt it retroactive to the day of the cancellation? And if so, do they just sell it wholesale as damaged and pay off the lien or is it actual comp and collision insurance and I may get the car back?

I am looking for an age or dollar figure that would be a good guideline for dropping all insurance but liability. This was suggested as a way to save insurance money.

I was just wondering what company has the cheapest insurance for a 17 year old male with three traffic tickets. I'm not looking for a lecture on how I should know better or to have people call me stupid. I've already learned my lesson and I don't speed anymore. But these tickets are still following me around for the next three years. I leave for college in a couple months, and I need a car. But everywhere we have called (Progressive, Allstate, Nationwide, etc.) has given us a quote that is over ten times what we are paying now. Anybody have any advice? Who is usually the cheapest company to go through?

We asked Dial Direct not to renew our insurance because we were taking out insurance with someone else (they're useless). Despite this, they took the money from our bank account on Thursday. We telephoned the same day and they said they would refund it immediately. We telephoned the next day to make sure and a different person said that they can't refund it until we return the certificate of insurance (we haven't HAD the certificate yet). Obviously we went absolutely mental with them and accused them of theft, but they are still saying that it could take up to 2 weeks to refund the money.
We have no money in our bank at all and desperately need it back (we can't afford any food for the weekend). What is the most effective threat I can give to get it back.

Recently bought a new bike (Chineese import) and the dealers are handling all the registration bit for me. It's now gone two weeks and I still have no bike nore registration details from the DVLA. Please advice on lenght of time of process needed. I have since sighned a V5C document (i think that is what it was), was told that it was for the log book.

Exact detail on the process would be much appreaciated, as this might enable me to better understand the lenght of time. Thanks.

Do you just need an address, or can you put NJ as your home address on a South Dakota form?

If you have an address, do you need to prove you own that, or just live there?

I had no license at the time so couldn't get the title in my name. The car broke and cost $500 to fix so my step mother paid for it. My sister's car broke down for good so she had no car to get to work. My dad asked me if my sister could use the car if she paid back my step mother. I agreed and then behind my back they go get the title in my sister's name. I have kept quiet for months but now I finally have my license. My sister says she owes me nothing and that the car is hers. Is there anything I can do to get back the car?

I'll pick the best answer based on who I think provides the best answer with the most accurate dollar amount. No, the highest dollar amount does not automatically win. Looking for honest experienced opinions.

1. Sitting at a red light a drunk driver hit us from the rear at 20 mph as explained in the report. I feel he was going 30-40 mph.

2. He tried to flee, but was caught, several wittnesses no question to fault. Driver charged with 4th DWI and 2nd hit and run.

3. his car damage was $3000 our was $2100.

4. We are three passengers. All experienced neck & back soft tissue damages. Child experienced partially dislocated shoulder and same neck problems. Medical bills for all three totaled $21,000.

5. Self employed, so no lost wages, child suffered absences from school, fell behind.

6. First three weeks we all were medicated, caused vomitting and ruined vacation plans. $2500 vacation.

How much is this claim worth? Keep in mind, 4th DWI, hit&run aggrivated situation.

I just got an car accident today while backing out in a parking lot. Another car was backing out and my bumper hit her passanger side door. There wasn't to much damage to my car a few scratches and a little part sticks out on my bumper. Her passanger side door has a dent size of a big circle. This was my first accident and I have a clean record for the past seven years. My insurance company is All State. My damage is probably not more than $700 and hers maybe $2000. I live in California. Does anybody know how my driving record will be affected will I receive a point??? Any info would be helpful.

Is it to asses my reliability for paying the premium? Or to get some vague notion if I'm a reliable person?
I have perfect yet short credit history (6 months) = "insufficient for insurance underwriting purposes", and I'm afraid it's going to send my premium out of whack.

My brother rear ended a vehicle, he was at fault. No dispute there. The accident report states he was doing 20 mph when he struck the front vehicle in the rear. My brother's car was smashed in pretty good in the front as he was driving a small Kia. The other party was in a medium sized SUV, or Toyota forerunner. The Toyota's bumper was smashed in fairly good, but not too much. The Toyota had 3 occupants all of which are now claiming semi-serious injuries. Most of which are the "gray" are types like head and neck, etc. I'm not saying they are totaling lying, but perhaps stretching things a bit. How close do insurance companies look at vehicle damage before assessing injury liability. Will the fact only their bumper was broke and a 20 mph impact with much larger vehicle be in our favor? Or is it really possible to suffer such sever injury from a crash like this?

Well, this week I got into an auto accident and there were three witnesses as officer told me. The other driver ran the red light so I collided with them. The one witness said that there was green light for me and the other said it was green for the other lady. But I know she ran the red light but the witness just felt sorry for her. The third witness was no help as the officer mentioned to me because she had no clue about it so I don't know why officer said she was witness. What should I do? I don’t want to take blame for her. Does your insurance goes up for “no-fault” since your insurances pays for your damages? In wisconsin, does your insurance goes up? What happens usually?
