Have tried all options. Was taken away 14yrs ago, and now, in dire need, because of age/health/happiness to at least get a Drivers Permit for daytime in GA. Unable, due to health, to sit for Drivers Class, nor can I afford the $$$ to pay to the State to get it back, because on limited income. Please, help me out, because no one else has. Tks, w/much sincerity! Live and Learn, and I have!

Obviously you haven't tried all options, or you would already have it back. Even if you claim you've never had a license, and sit through all the classes and training, as soon as you apply for a new license your revocation will come up and they will not issue one to you, so your only option is to get your license reinstated.

You claim limited income keeps you from paying whatever fine was applied to get your license back, but you've had 14 years to gather up that needed money. Let's say for arguments sake that your fine was a whopping $5,000. $30 a month, $360 a year, now, 14 years later you'd have $5,040 put away.

Do you expect someone to hand you the cash to get it reinstated? Not likely that will happen.

Your only option is to pay whatever fine is against your license to get it back. But then what? Insurance won't be cheap. Will you be back here asking for help because you had an accident and didn't have insurance, and can't afford to pay what the damage was?

The concept is choice-consequence. You obviously made some bad choices. Live with the consequences now, or fix it by paying what you owe the state.

Um, how can we help? If you can't sit for the class, I am not sure how you can sit to drive, but if they want you to take the class, you need to find a way to take the class. If you owe money, there is no way around that, it will have to be paid, or a payment plan confirmed, before you will be given a licence. We have some people come into our office with similar problems, but, ultimately, the DVL/DMV has the final say in the application of the rules, regulations, ad laws in place.

I hate GA I just left there several months ago, I would just drive in the daytime and pray that I don't get pulled over. What other options do you have. NONE.

Get a license in a different state and register your vehicle in another state, GA is too picky with insurance laws. Progressive will insure you without a license if you had a drivers license before and can remember your DL number.
