What country are you in?
If you are in England, Scotland or Wales, the MOT is due on or before the third anniversary of the true first registration (i.e. November 2007).
However, the "first registration in the UK" suggests you are in Northern Ireland, but that your car was previously registered in England, Scotland or Wales. If so, then the MOT will normally be due on or before the 4th anniversary of the first registration date, but it is best to check with DVLNI, as they sometimes seem to decide on another date (my Mum's previous car was originally registered in England. It almost 5 years old before DVLNI decided it should be MOT'd - she tried to get it done at 4 years but the vehicle testing agency refused to do it).

It sounds to me that the vehicle was firat registered in the UK in November 2004. Then you purchased it, and now the registration is showing when you bought and registered it, in December 2006. Did you buy the car in December?

What year is on the number plate? 04's are just starting to get Mots now, so anything older than an 53 plate should have one by now.

If the car is new at first registration, 3 years from then. If it is, say, a used import, don't know.
