A few years ago my truck was hit and totaled by a driver who was uninsured. My insurance did not pick it up. I got a lawyer and sued the guy and i won over 10,000. That was 3 years ago and my lawyer has done nothing to collect the money. One payment was collected and the lawyer kept the whole payment. My lawyer tells me its my responsibility to find out where he is working and to have a garnish put on his checks or other assets. I was told this is supose to be done by the lawyer which is why i got the lawyer so he would do that. He has not contacted me for over a year and i have still not had any payments made to me. I dont know why i am the one that had to garnish his wages and find out all this information. If i knew that i wouldnt have gotten a lawyer. Can i fired him and hire a differnt lawyer without having to pay him? The deal was he would collect 1/3 of the total sum.

coverage. My friends that are in the car with me are going to get themselves checked out for injuries. I gave them all my insurence info. Are they covered through my insurence or are they going to have to sue me for their medical payments.
BTW-I didn't get the tag of the person that hit me.

I was hit by a car in the rear, myself and passenger taken to hospital, no serious injuries besides whiplash. Accident was ruled other driver's fault. My insurance agent told me to take it to a guy he knew so I did, was told it would take several weeks and over $7k to fix. My agent said they wouldn't pay for a rental and I needed transportation asap so I took it someplace else and got it fixed for $650.00 in one day! Now I get a letter from my insurange agent saying that I stated I wanted to pursue the party that hit me so they were not going to cover any repair costs. I called his supervisor and told him I never stated anything to my agent, he was very upset with me for some reason, I suspect they were getting kickbacks from the garage who wanted so much money. What should I do? I feel like both insurance companies are working against me now. Can I sue my insurance company and the individual who hit me? Please advise.

Thank You!

I probably shouldn't even be asking this.... If I were to help someone out by accepting the title to a vehicle for the sole purpose of attaining vehicle registration and renewal of tag---- what responsibility would I be accepting along with such ownership? I would not insure or drive this vehicle, but as far as I know I would be vulnerable.... or assume, rather, any and all liability for damages arising from accidents or any other type of violations involving this vehicle. I am basically wanting to know WHO is responsible -- the driver --- the owner --- both???? Is this determined depending on State laws. I would like this person to clearly understand WHY I cannot put myself in such a position.

:) As always, I appreciate all answers.
