No! The driving test is no big deal! I thought the same thing too and I ended up passing it on my first try. I wish I was you because it's fun when you pass.

My girlfriend just took the drive test for the first time. She is a native Australian and has had a license for years.

when she passed the written test, she was told that if she brought the australian license, she would not have had to take the drive test. (but she lost it)

The first time i took the drive test, I passed with 100% and I took it in the city streets of San Francisco where traffic is really bad.

thing to keep in mind while taking the test is:

1. Safety!!!
The DMV person will not take points off for being cautious. Always give the right of way and never dart into traffic or in front of traffic.

2. watch your speed
It may seem like you are going really really slow when you drive the speed limit but you can be aware and just keep it at the speed limit for the duration of the test.

3. watch the lane control
dont cross any solid white lines on the road, thats points off.
never weave in and out of your lane.

4.use signals and look over your shoulders and look both ways when you pull out from the dmv parking lot.

Anyway, you just need to bring your awareness up and just do the test, there are lots of bad drivers out there so if you are a good or fairly good driver, you can pass the test.

my girl passed the test with 10pts deducted.
15pts is allowed.

get some practice time with your parents!!!!

Nope! Written and then behind the wheel. If ya can't do it ya don't get it. Plain and simple. Like the guy told me. Are you gonna panic like this if I give you your license or are you just gonna recover and do it right? I was driving a stick shift at the time. I stalled it right in the middle of a busy intersection. I said, OH SHT and that's what he said to me. So I go, I know. Just flunk me now. So when we got back he told me that he realized that I was nervous but because I took control of the situation I got the license. Think of him as a hitch hiker. You owe him nothing and he knows that you are nervous. good luck.

There is one way in CA.. but its for motorcycles only.. you take the safety course ( about 3-4 days and cost you a few hundred $) & if you pass that you dont actually have to do the MC drive test.. (BUT you already have to have a car license to do that)

No, there is not a way. Just relax and pretend nobody is with you. Good luck!
