I also live in TX and know from personal experience that you do not have to live with you parents to be on their policy. I don't think that getting married would be a reason for state farm to drop you from the policy but your parents might choose to drop you if you run off and get married without telling them....tell your parents that you are planning on getting married and see what they say about keeping you on their insurance after you are married that way they as the policyholders can contact the insurance to see what your options would be. But truly--- you are 23 years old and and adult, use some common sense and grow a sense of responsbility. If you think you are ready to get married then you and your spouse should be responsible enough to realize that once you are married and out on your own staying on your parents auto insurance policy will be the least of your worries.

If you live with your parents, regardless of whether you are married, you would still qualify as an insured under their policy. This is true for many companies and should be with State Farm.
If you're driving their car with permission, even if you don't live with them, you qualify as an insured. And this occurs regardless of whether you're married or not also.

Maybe Texas has different rules for insurance, but I think that you would be dropped. I don't know how they would know that you recently got married though.
You could call another insurance company and see how they handle that stuff.
I think if you are not living with them you need your own policy. I hope you plan to tell your parents that you are getting married before you get married!

It shouldn't make a diffrence. Plus the insurance won't know unless you tell them. Right now I am on my folks' policy but I don't live with them, I just told them I did.
