Car Makes - August 2007

When I bought my car, the sale manager at the dealer suggest me to buy this plan. He said anything happen to my car (hit and run, accident..) they will make sure my car look like new again without any deductible. But 2 weeks ago, I packed my car on a street and someone cracked my front bumper. I called Honda protection plan unit and they told me it's not covered. Suck! I learned my lesson the hard way. Never trust anyone at the dealer :((

My car is due for its 6 month servicing. I called our local Honda dealership. They said it is most likely the fuel pump relay that transmits fuel and information to the starter. They said it was a common problem among Honda Accords from the early 90s.

They recommended to replace this fuel pump relay. This would cost $190. They indicated they could check if this fuel pump relay works or not. That would cost $130. Given these costs, they suggested I directly get the fuel pump relay replaced for $190.

This makes sense to me. But, I am no car mechanic. Does it make sense to you? Or, do you know of other likely possibilities? What should I do?

i can see if maybe you are in search and rescue or the army...but why would you buy one of these things? do you have a family of 20 that needs to be transported across mountains and lakes everyday? is it really because you think it makes you look cool?

cranks and after a while turns over but after i've driven it for a while it starts right back up. i was told it was a leaky vacuum line but i have looked through a manual a can't find the location. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I'D FIND THE VACCUM LINES ON A 93 GRAND CHEROKEE?

after looking at manual i have found i should have 3 keys for the car master,second and third i only have 2 and not the master i had it plugged in for a diagnostic and the only fault found was ...not reading key 4????.....but it only happens maybe 1 in 20 times of starting and to compensate i have to use the accelerator to start.has anyone experienced the same or know how to fix?

Well still having troubles..., replaced the thermostat, water pump, sensor, fan motor, and still it boils out all the fluid, The last thing I think it could possibly be is the radiator, which seems fine. There's no fluid in the oil, and my exhaust isn't even slightly moist, any thoughts?

My son has a 2000 Cougar, the knob for the fan has settings 1 thru 4. It works fine on 4 but does not blow at all in 1 thru 3. Before I take off the dash cover is there any other suggestions on where to look?

I've been driving Chevys for about 35 years. Ive had a couple GMCs as well. Also many other makes of pickups over the years, and I prefer General Motors cars and trucks over the others.. What is the real difference between Chev & GMC ? Is it just the trim and emblem package ?? Many years back I had a 60's GMC 3/4 ton truck with a V-6, and I remember that being the heaviest gas engine I'd seen at the time, heavier that the 327 which was around in big numbers then. I also seem to remember the older GMCs being more utilitarian with the interiors than Chevy, but in recent years I really don't see much difference. If they're the same, why does General Motors have both lines, if different, how so ? Do any of you have a good answer for this? I'm figuring on purchasing a nearly new Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon this fall or in the spring.

I just bought this car yseterday from a used car dealership. 37k miles for 15k. Carmax reports states that it was use as a fleet car in a company. How often should i take the car in to be lookd at and if i take care of it how long is it expected to last? 100,ooo miles? or more?

I noticed the paint on the hood of my 2007 civic (that i've only have had for 4 and 1/2 months) is chipping! Tiny spots of chipped paint keep appearing on the hood. Im afraid these spots will keep multiplying and grow bigger over time. My question is, will the factory warranty or the honda care warranty cover my civic's hood?

I’m a very zealous cyclist and enjoy taking on difficult challenges. My friend, Yin and I take the same route to work, which is a quiet rural road. There is a stretch of a 3 mile straightway, so I’m wondering if it is possible to outrun her car?

Postscript: My friend, Yin drives a 2002 Honda Civic DX, with a 1.7L, 115 horse power engine and a 4-Speed automatic transmission.

I heard about frame rails that you could buy for a 240sx...I am wondering what do they do exactly. Heres my problem I have a 240sx that wont pass the inspection du to the rust on the unibody.. frame.. If I install those on my car will it be a safe repair?

I have a 1996 honda accord ex coupe manual transmission, When i push on the pedal, there's very little resistance, but it shifts fine and doesn't slip, it just seems weird how the pressure on my clutch decreased so much.
