When I bought my car, the sale manager at the dealer suggest me to buy this plan. He said anything happen to my car (hit and run, accident..) they will make sure my car look like new again without any deductible. But 2 weeks ago, I packed my car on a street and someone cracked my front bumper. I called Honda protection plan unit and they told me it's not covered. Suck! I learned my lesson the hard way. Never trust anyone at the dealer :((

Most, or I should say ALL, extended warranty plans are overly expensive for what they offer. Then when you try to use them they always try to wiggle out of it. By the way, one reason they're so expensive is the dealership and the salesman both get a cut of what you pay for it. That's why they always push them, not because it helps you but because it benefits them.

The product you purchased is a dealer program, not a Honda factory program. The Finishing Touch is a paint sealant that supposedly protects the surfaces against staining and damage due to airborne fall-out. It does not cover damage from accidents, scratches, dents or anything other than paint staining.

the dealers who sell the Finishing Touch product offer to reapply the product to the areas of the car that are repaired because of accidents. That reapplication is done at no charge. They do not repair the accident damage at no charge as is something that would be covered under normal insurance coverage.

you're not the only person who has misunderstood this program. I used to work at a large Honda dealer that sold Finishing Touch and many customers thought they were purchasing a program that would protect against scratches and the like. Sadly, that's not the case.

hopefully that answers your question.
