I got a deal on some side steps but they did not come with hardware or with instructions for installing them.

I looked at the frame and there are mounting holes but they are one sided; so I want to make sure that I get the right type, and right sizes for the nuts, the bolts and the washers.

The steps have a number on them (55156201AB) but I only came up with a parts store that was selling the complete step kit.

Anybody have any thoughts, ideas or info on where I might locate a part list and install instructions?

Ford claims ranger gets up to 29 mpg. Window sticker in 1990 read same. I have driven a 1990 Ranger for 17 years. It has 317,000 miles on it. It has been driven from NC to Ca. Serviced regularly. At no time have I ever gotten close to this kind of mileage. I average 20-21 mpg. Is there a Ranger that gets up 29 mpg ?

I am trying to restore a 1984 AMC Eagle Wagon.
It seems there are lots of restoration parts for Jeep CJ but not for Eagle.
I know its engine is same as Jeep.
Let me know what kind of chassis parts are interchangeable with CJ.

Porsche is actually an engineering firm, that went into making cars as a sideline. The concept was the company should be run by engineers not by businessmen who were doing what was necessary to increase profits to please the shareholders. As far as I know they have never tried to build a large factory that would crank out thousands of cars, that would have a price low enough to compete with the really popular cars in the market place. I Think the bodies are made by Karmann coachwork and many of the other parts are bought from Volkswagen and various other suppliers. If someone has enough money they hire Porsche to design a car for them. John DeLorean was about to hire Porsche to design his car, but they refused to do the job within the period of time in which he needed the car to be designed. Many other companies have their cars designed by porsche, but this is kept secret. The engineers who worked for volkswagen may have improved on Ferdinand Porches original design, but they failed

I just cut the connection of the battery after 10 painstaking minutes of non-stop-noise barrage at 2:00 in the morning. If i want to start it again the horn might start the new year earlier than expected. Can anyone show me the diagram of the engine or any tips on how to disconnect the horn connection?
Thanks..

What can a person do within reason to get a typical 70's era large Ford sedan to get a whole lot better MPG than they typically get?

Lets say for the sake of an example, a 70-something LTD 4 door sedan or wagon with a 460-V8 or the 400-V8 or perhaps the 351-V8. Those cars as I remember always got no better than 12 or so around town, 20 on the highway in a tailwind going 50!

I like the looks of these tank-like Fords, but wonder what kinds of modern technology I can add or change to and be within cost reason to bring up the MPG on these beasts?

Thanks.

I'm thinking of buying one. Do they have any common issues? How many miles per gallon? Would you say its realiable?

It is an Acura 2.5 TL with 173,000 miles. Oil is clean when checked, engine looks brand new. It is missin its keyless entry. Tires have good wear left. Can an Acura handle that many miles? It is only $2500 but that is how much a new transmission and a new engine would cost if it went on me. I don't know if I can trust an Acura with that many miles.

Not talking about any of the so-called Lincoln Mark trucks...sorry!

So, for all the years that the Lincoln Mark coupe was built, from 1956 to 1998, what generation would you like if you was going to buy one, and if you do already own one or more, then what kind is it?

What Mark series are your most and least favorite and why?

If you have a favorite Mark series, which colors are your favorite and what are your most hated color combinations?

What Mark series would you recommend to someone who likes Marks but has a difficult time choosing a model to buy?

Thanks.

Toyota Camery 1996 4-cylinder

I barrowed the machine from Auto Zone. It reads: "cylinder 2 misfire detected".

After checking the cylinder #2, there is some white on the bottom of that cylinder and none on the other 3. Does this mean I need to replace spark plugs or the cylinder? And what is the price difference? Thanks :)

I need some opinions on wether or not I should keep this truck. I bought it 5 months ago from a dealership for $8k. So far the alignments been adjusted 3 times, back breaks totally replaced, major tune up (the spark plugs were rusted onto the battery) and a mystery problem (turned out to be the oxygen sensor). I have spent over $3k already fixing it. Not only that, but the ball joints need replacing (another $300). I'm stuck between keeping it because i've put so much money into it now or selling it because i'm afraid in the future it'll have more problems. I didn't do my research before buying the Dakota and I see it has nothing but bad reviews. Opinions please!!!!!!
