Not talking about any of the so-called Lincoln Mark trucks...sorry!

So, for all the years that the Lincoln Mark coupe was built, from 1956 to 1998, what generation would you like if you was going to buy one, and if you do already own one or more, then what kind is it?

What Mark series are your most and least favorite and why?

If you have a favorite Mark series, which colors are your favorite and what are your most hated color combinations?

What Mark series would you recommend to someone who likes Marks but has a difficult time choosing a model to buy?

Thanks.

The Lincoln Mark VIII is probably one of the sleekest, fastest Lincolns ever made in stock form, but easy to ramp up to 500 bhp.

They are available for not a lot of money and I have never seen a rusty one yet! I have a Black/black 95 Mark VIII LSC I purchased last December and I have owned a lot of cars but this one has wow factor. For me the Lincoln Mark VIII looks best in any color as long as it is black. 30% black tint on the windows and it looks bad a--!

The last two years they were made, 97-98 are really the zenith of Mark technology and luxury. They are great cars with tremendous performance and they still look compelling on the road. The earlier Mk VIIIs are also wonderful cars. They are durable and fun to drive, though not quite as well designed as the final two years.

The Mark IV has to be the all time best outsize model. In 1976 a 400cid took the place of the giant 460 with no meaningful increase in efficiency because of the added emission controls and a noticeable decrease in performance. But the models before that are terrific, especially the Bill Blass trim levels. So those would be my all time favorites.

I owned a 1989 Lincoln Mark IV that I lifted, coilovered and put on 33" super swamper tires. It cruised all over the Glamis sand dunes and even made it in some off road videos.
Sweet car for a POS

The Mark II from 56-57. Its a classic, the best looking car Lincoln ever made. Buying one of the other marks is a waste of money.

I would really like to have a Mark II, but I am also a huge fan of the Mark VII LSC Special Edition. I had a regular LSC back when it was new, but for a long-term keeper I've always wanted special edition. They're cheap, but low-mileage Mark VII's are getting hard to find.

I would get a 1995 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC in Ivory Pearl.

If you want an older one my choice would be a Silver Mark V with a black vinyl top. Also I feel all the Mark VIII were great looking cars.

If you can find a 56 or57, then get that one. They were hand built. After that then they just went down the assembly line.

I really liked the 98 that we rented when in Detroit. It was fast and quiet. It took to the road like a slot car.

No, the Cubs problem isn't funds, that's Da Cubs.
