Car Makes - March 2007

I have a 96 honda civic and the other day I found out that not too many speakers would fit in the front even if the cup is cut out because it is too shallow and the speaker would be too close to the window. I currently have sony explodes that i bought a year and a half ago, but the only problem with these are they dont have very good bass at all and they crackle when the volume is turned up loud. There are a few though that crutchfield says fit. These are Infinity Reference 6012si, Infinity Reference 6022si, Pioneer TS-A1682R, Boston Acoustics S65RC, Blaupunkt Vx652, and JBL Power Series P652S. The only problem with all of these is they have less rms and peak power than what i have now so im not sure if they would make any difference. Anyone have any experience with these or could tell me if i would notice any difference if bought one of these models?

I need to know if a 5 speed trandsmission in a 1990 s15 Ext. Cab. 4cylinder 2.5L will fit on a v6 2.8L and match up on the bell housing or will I need an adapter plate between the trany and motor?

Im need to know how the horn/airbag comes off of the steering wheel on a 1996 ranger.The on/off switch for the cruise control need changed but im not sure how to get the air bag/horn button off.Thanks

i have a BMW 320d se 2002 model, just had a test drive in the new Audi A4 tdi 1.9 2006 model.. very impressed...
had a test drive also in the new BMW 320D SE ..not impressed..!!
read all the reports on both cars..my wife is not sure about the Audi..bad reports etc.. but need advice on the Audi, which would convinced my wife.. Thanks

I have a 1999 Dodge Intrepid and my car always bottoms out because it is so low to the ground. The bottom bumper hits everything and now it is hanging off. There are only 2 bolts holding it up. one on each side. Do I need to put it back on or can I take it off. Will it hurt my car in any way?

I found a 2005 Rav4 with 5,200 miles. I really like it but I don't understand how someone can have a car and not drive it. It is @ years old I think it should have more miles. I know it has not been wrecked I checked it out on carfax.

I have changed my 302w for a 351w and I am having a problem getting the lower harmonic balancer pulley to line up to the pulley on the water pump (power steering pump & alternator) I have all the 351w adaptors for the heads. The bottom pulley needs to come out about 25mm.do you have any spacers for a 4 bolt harmonic balancer? The motor is a recon serpentine belt EFI with the EFI removed

Sometime, mostly vendors offer the thermostat with setting temp of 71 C instead of (higher than this or 87 C). Based on the reference I got, the current engine (newer not old engine) will run in better performance when apply the higher range of this thermostat i.e. 82 C to 91 C. Beside that, combustion will be more effisien and redue the polutant. Would you please tell us about the proper thermostat temp setting selection? thx.

Last week my heater wasn't working. I asked a guy at Shucks if low antifreeze could cause my heater to not work. He said yes. I found that my radiator reservoir was empty so I added a gallon of antifreeze. Two days later I noticed my heat gauge rising. I stopped before it reached hot. My reservoir was empty again and my radiator was low. I filled the radiator and reservoir and then I drove about 10 miles to my house, the heat gauge kind of bounced around but stayed below the H. I didn't drive it again. When we checked it five days later there was no water in the reservoir or the radiator. My husband says he had just checked the fluid levels and they were fine but isn't low water the cause of a cracked block?

A few weeks back I noticed that my gauge was readin 3/4 after topping off the tank. I didn't think anything until I realized how expensive it is getting? When I first bought the car it got 425 miles at a full tank. Now it read 380 after being filled up. Why is my gauge readings off? Can it be fixed and if so how?
