Car Makes - February 2007

I have a 2002 Accord EX with 90k miles. I need to replace the transmission - is this typical for Hondas at 90k miles?! I had my own shop do the work since it's about $600 cheaper than the Honda dealership. I've filed a complaint with Honda Customer Care for a reimbursement. Does anyone have experience with this? What are my chances of getting reimbursed?

i have a 1970 datsun 510 that i am building and doing a v8 swap in. but i cant decide whethet to use a ford sb 289 or a 1970 302. ive heard the 289's had really good power. but i cant find much about the 302 from a 1970 mustang. any help and maybe horsepower ratings for the different models of 289 and 302 would be great.

Just bought a -93 Toyota pickup 4x4. I'm new to 4x4 vehicles.
Need tips on how to handle the 4x4 mode. The manual is very vauge on this.
Can I leave the front hubs locked while I'm in 2-wheel drive without damage?
Will I immidiately destroy something if I turn sharpley on pavement in 4x4 with locked hubs?
Any difference about that between 4x4 high and low?
Any other non obvious things I should know?

I just bought a 2003 PT Cruiser. There are a few things I want to get done to it but I am having a hard time figureing out things that would make it 'my own.' I have just had my timing belt renewed on my 1.8 ford focus at 63000 miles (T reg) at a ford garage and they also renewed the tensioner. However they did not renew the tensioner pulley and I wonder if they've done the right thing

i've a 97 honda acoord special edition and i'm the third owner. the car has around 180k on it. i recently got the regular service done. but this weeekend the transmission broke. the car was properly maintained, but i dont know how the transmission problem came up. the CAA (toronto) guys are suggesting to get a new transmission or a used one. but the thing is that a new one will cost the same as the car, and used transmissions dont sound good either. pls provide your suggestions, what can be done now ????

My death wobble seams to happen when i hit bumps on either side of the truck (but not ones that hit both wheels at once, ie speed bumps) it seems to be a problem between 25 and 45 somthing like that. Any slower or faster i havent had a problem.
