Depends on what your willing to do and how much you have to spend....to sound good..you have to y after the cat and run 40 series flows and tails you can use 04 8cylinder tails, a little expensive because of the ss tips (oe)...the only thing you have to worry about is the right rear brake hose will have to be repositioned or you ll melt it..can't run single in duel out muffler on a mustang..it's impossible..also never heard of macs???? also a good muffler is a magnaflow...don't go borla too quiet

Being you car is a six cylinder it is single muffler single pipe....to make it true dual it will need some custom pipes made and the two mufflers for the rear not to mention some tail pipes.....you can also have the choice of just keeping a single in dual out muffler and running the pipes that way.....sound wise...ehhhh its a V-6 so its not going to be all that deep...and will sound a little raspy....try looking into a MAC muffler which has great quailty....would make it sound a little deeper in my opinion....Flowmaster are not made for power.....I have a 2000 Mustang GT, fully built motor with a charger.....first thing the tuner at the shop told me was to get rid of the flowmasters and I will gain another 10hp...LOL needless to say they wil be gone very soon......Hope the info helps

Your car can sound quiet to loud.... depending on the flowmaster... if you go with the original 40 series it will be loud inside and outside your vehicle. If you want it loud outside but quiet inside go with the 40 delta flow or 50 delta flow. I have a 40 delta on my durango and it sounds great. In my opinon Flowmasters are the best sounding muffler made.... you will love the powerfull sound! I have been using them for 10 years now.

There are plenty of clips out there of people who have put all kinds of different exhaust kits on their v-6s. You might want to listen to many of them before finalizing your decision. I ended up going with macs for my 06 GT. They sound great but have enough drone to drown out my radio.

As for installation, the S197 couldn't be easier to add an exhaust to. Instead of cat back like previous models, you will buy an axle back system. For the v-6, its one clamp and the hangers. I recomend unbolting the hangers and dropping them with the stock exhaust. That is much easier than fighting with the rubber on the hangers. Plus, you can position the new muffler to sit where you want before tightening the hangers. I replaced both sides of my GT with my MAC axle back system in 40 minutes in the Florida August sun. EASY!

in case you elect a decrease tone with greater of a muscle motor vehicle sound flow with flowmasters or different chambered mufflers. magnaflows and borlas and different non restrictive mufflers will sound greater severe-pitched and raspy, yet they advance greater horsepower. a million-2hp at maximum which isn't lots distinction anyhow.

Here's a website that has exhasut sound clips. Call a muffler shop to get a cost on installing them.
