I have just had my timing belt renewed on my 1.8 ford focus at 63000 miles (T reg) at a ford garage and they also renewed the tensioner. However they did not renew the tensioner pulley and I wonder if they've done the right thing

They surely have checked the pulley before while changing the belt, just call them and ask.

On the Ford Focus, the timing belt tensioner is the tensioner and bearing assembly. It's not possible to replace just the tensioner.

The tensioner pulley is normal integral with the tensioner. Again.

if you believe the pulley to be the original, and has'nt been replaced, just invoiced, then go back and mention you have doubts about the pulley not being replaced,if they are honest and experienced they will know that the part is all in one tension and pulley, thus maybe tensioner was not replaced.

hi...think if you check back with them you 'will' find they 'did' also change the pulley...any good car mechanic would, as just changing the tensioner could lead to a quick wearing of that said tensioner.
