I was recently in a car accident where my car was tottalled. I'm looking for a good reliable car that will last me about 5 years. I do not know much about subarus, but i did get the chance to drive a Outback Legacy. It felt great, but i'm wondering if anyone has any Major problems with Subarus.

everytime i start the car it turns on with a loud deep rattling sound and when i acceletrate it gets louder and it sounds like crap. anybody know what it is? im pretty sure its the catylitics but if you know anything else tell me thanks.

I sunk the nose of my 2000 dodge into a water hole this weekend. past the headlights and an angle which water stopped at mid front doors(at the bottom). after being snatched out i realized i had no reverse...then no drive!!! After i let it sit for a few minutes i got it back but not for long, drove for 5 miles, against my better judgement. Obvcourse sinking it was against it too :)

Found pepto bizmol in my transmission, oil a little milky too.
Also looks like trans front pump is now leaking. Has anyone recovered without replacing/rebuilding trans? and can the Average mechanic(with a manual) rebuild?

I have a 147 hp automatic 2006 Honda Civic Coupe EX and I want to know exactly how fast it is compared with other cars in its group. What is its speed compared with other cars?

It also has a digital spedometer, what is its limit? 140? 160? I heard it was 160 on the dash, but since it is digital I am not sure?

Last, the gears have Drive, Drive3, 2, and 1? What exactly are those? I often drive fast and switch to Drive3 to go faster....is that harmful to my car if I time the shift???

Please go into detail with the answers so I can finally stop wondering about all those questions?
