If you were in influenced in buying a car because you were told a warranty was available, and if you paid the dealer for a three month warranty on the day you bought the car, should you reasonably expect the warranty to be available immediately? In this case it did not go into effect until a week later, because warranty company said they did not get the paperwork and payment from the dealer until a week later, but the dealer kept telling me they sent multiple faxes and paid for the warranty? I was stuck paying to repair a major breakdown which occurred on the first day.

We traded in our truck for a minivan and after a closer look at our finances, we realized that we had made a bad decision. Our new vehicle payment is $200 more than our old one. We have gone in over our heads and want to see if we can get our old truck back. It has been over a week that we have had the new minivan. We also put money down on it. I don't think the checks have been sent out or anything. Can we get our truck back? Has anyone been through this?

My brother buys and sells cars on a weekly basis. He has a California dealer license that allows him to sell up to 22 cars as an individual without a "real dealership". He buys them 1 or 2 at a time from auctions and profit around $2,000 each car. I dont think he pays tax since its all cash, can he get in trouble ? Can the IRS find out ? He doesn't have any other jobs just buys and sells cars with cash. He doesn't have any type of liability insurance for the type of business that he is doing so may be at risk for potential exposure to law suits. I'm concen about his way of doing things. Any answers, feedbacks, and advice would greatly be appreciated

i totaled my 1998 mazda millenia s last night, and i was wondering how i would get the most money for it, like selling it in parts or something. The damage is pretty much all on the passenger side, the engine and several other internal parts are fine

I got a loan through my bank to buy a car. I needed my mom to co sing. My mom went ahead and cosigned and I went and found a car i wanted. Now when I went to get the car my mom couldn't go with me so I went and sign my portion and the sells man followed me home so my mom could sign her part. On the way home i noticed the AC wasnt working well come to find out the car doesnt come with AC. I told him i would never buy a car without AC since im planning to move to Las Vegas and i have a 2 year old son. My mom refused to sign the paperwork and the guy left pretty upset. Now my question is since i needed my moms signatures and she didnt sign is the contract not valid and the sale didnt go through? The dealer called me a couple times because they said i need to go in and sign something that says i dont want the car but it tol them why would i need to do that if the sell never went though because my mom didnt sign. Does that also soung right, signing that type of paperwork??

NOTHING! Their receipt states, "as is" and is signed by you. That means there's llegally no gaurantees and they're stuck with whatever happens after they buy the vehicle with no recourse. Little do they know that you never did any maintenance at all on the car and could care less since your getting a new car. You made a "lemon" and the the person that buys your car is a "lemon eater". So my question again is, do I owe anything to the person that buys my used car?? Should I feel guilty?

That's selling his car on Craigslist. It is a 2004 Chevy cavalier and it looks fantastic. The car only has 49,000 miles and it still looks new. He also listed the price for the car as $4500. I thought this amount sounded a little low but then again I know nothing about cars and what they are worth. Anyway, I asked him why he was selling the car and he said he is selling it because he moved to London and doesn't need it. In the e-mail he lowered the price of the car to $3500. I don't know why because I certainly didn't ask him to lower it. And he also offered to pay for the shipping for that car and would send it from London to Texas for free. Does the fact that he reduced the price of the car without my asking and offered to ship it for free, sound like a scam? He said all I needed to do was give him my info like address and stuff and I could be a new car owner!

I know the car dealer makes a commission on the note. But I don't know how much that is. Is it commonly a percentage, or a flat fee, or what?

I'm interested in buying a 2005 pontiac sunfire with 27k miles from an R-title (wrecked) dealer. The price he has posted on the car is 8999, but other dealerships are selling the same car that is a clean title for the same price. What's a reasonable asking price for this. Would $7500 be too much? I figured since its r-titled the price should be lower. I also noticed the tires need replaced. If anyone has any advice that would be great!
