Okay so I was kicked out of my ex-gfs house and the only way she would give me my stuff back was if I signed the title so she could have her name put on it. I have made all payments for a year, she has made only partial amounts and I have covered the rest. However she always threatens to take it, who has legal ownership of the car in this situation?

I looking for a newer 1997+ sportier car with around 50k miles or less. Somewhere in the price range of $15k-$17k or less. Something reliable, decently quick, fun, and good looks.

I dont really want old early 90's unreliable cars such as old 300zxs, 3000gts, stealth tt's etc, since thats what I have now (1991, 300zx tt, 90k miles)

But have looked at things like rx-8, boxster (worried about costs of maintenance), c230 kompressor, eclipses, trans am, camaro, srt-4, etc.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Used the Costco Auto Buying Program and went to the assigned dealership to buy a new car. Due to program, dealership can only charge me in between invoice and sticker. I had figured out the car could not cost more than sticker and added tax and $1000. for fees, but the dealership kept coming up $10,000. higher. What are all of these fees, and how can I figure what they are going to be before I go to the dealership, so I don't get robbed?

I know someone who has been hiding a car for 2 years. Is that illegal? She doesn't drive it. She says she is just thinking she will someday be able to pay it and keep it. I think she's living in a fantasy land. But I'm worried she could get in trouble with the law.

Answers with documentation links would be appreciated.

I sent the seller a msg to call me and I told him to take the listing down because I will buy it now for $550. He told me that the car needs a quart of oil every week because the pan is dripping, also needs a bolt for the transmission because when you go too fast you will hear a thud. The man says he is disabled and can not fix the car.

All of the options work in the car, a/c, auto locks and windows.

I own a Toyota 1999 4runner Limited. I've had it for sale on ebay and craigslist for 2 weeks and selling it for less than blue book value (blue book says it would sell for $10k-$12000), but potential buyers are shying away. I don't understand. I only asked $8000 for it which is $2000 less than its value. It has 137k and its very clean w/ lots of extras (towing hitch, brush guard, sports muffler, sun roof, roof rack, etc). I thought it would have sold by now because of Toyota's good reputation.

How long do you think it should take to sell a really nice pre-owned 4runner? (I'm the 2nd owner, non-smoker).

I bought the car used three years ago. and it's now dead. The car's been nothing but trouble. I really want to get rid of it, but I still owe 5,000 on it. Is there anything I could do about this? Or am I screwed paying for a dead car? Thanks.

Someone offered to sell me their 2001 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, which is diesel, for $4,068. I looked it up online to see how much they typically sell for with 170,000 miles on it (the amount on the car) and the kelly blue book value was 7-8 thousand. I am surprised that a car with so many miles on it is selling for so much, I actually thought $4,000 was a lot! Does anyone know if there is a reason why they are going for so much and how long it may last?

-Purchased NEW in '94,
-a little over 206,000 miles(seen some serious road time, but she's still in great condition)
-a steal at $2250 (price is negotiable)
-It does as well as a 13 year old car with a V6 can do on gas. About mid- to high-teens in the city, mid-twenties on the highway. The transmission slips a little when you start it for the first time of the day, but once she warms up it's smooth as silk. No major engine probs. I have all of the maintenance records for the past several years for you to review.
