I live in Texas and it's reeally hot, I've been feeling like we shouldn't buy a car if it's black due to the idea that they absorb the heat more. Is this really true? If the AC works well is it really an issue? I just found a great deal on a black Nissan, it's like new, should I consider it even in spite of the black, Or, should I stick with the lighter colored car? What's your experience?

Should I buy or lease? Should I get ABS? Is it worth it to shell out a few thousand more bucks to get better safety features and a longer, more comprehensive warranty? Is it worth it to save a few thousand bucks by getting a car which is 5 years old instead?

I am thinking about buying a used police car (1997 Lumina) with 70,000 miles on it. I think it is for sale for $2,000. I am not sure whether it is a good idea to by an ex cop car. My buddy told me that the cops probably did a lot of idleing and starting/stopping the engine. He said starting/stopping a lot is one of the biggest wear and tear on a car because of the engine not recieving oil on start up for a few moments. Basically I would just like to know if it is worth it or not to go ahead and get it. Thanks.

http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/autos/0702/gallery.consumer_reports_top_picks/index.html

While looking at Consumer Reports, they seem to be on the ball...until you see something more in real-time, than "predictions" based on older models.

Now take a look at the 2007 JD Power Inital Quality Survey..quite contrasting considering Mercedes Benz now produces a higher quality product than Toyota, Porsche is # 1 for the past two years, and a Ford Mustang has even a higher built quality than a Toyota Solara.

Now remember, statistical probability dictates if something will go wrong due to manufacturing or latent defect, it will happen much sooner than later, hence the reasoning behind "initial quality" reports.

for $3500. She wants us to make the bill of sale for $1000 and then give a $2500 gift so she can avoid some excise tax. Isn't this illegal?

Would appreciate some info on this.

Bought an 05 Acura and upon driving it off the lot, I noticed a messed up rear interior. I also noticed two dings I didn't see in my hurry and excitement. Should I "live with" these knowing it's a used vehicle or should I make a big fuss about it, perhaps get a different vehicle?

I was offered a lincoln town car, 1999, for like 2,000 dollars, but I dont think it will be worth it because it has almost 300,000 miles, but it was well maintnanced, and is in good condition, but it was used for a cab company, and has sooo many miles. I figured, it might last a while, because, I dont drive that much, and I can always overhaul the engine, but I dont know exactly how long it might last. What do you think, is it worth it?

I've recieved an email from a female who is willing to pay by cheque the full asking price for my car without seeing it or having it checked out. She says that she can't come and pick it up herself, has left no contact number or address. I may be a little paranoid but the alarm bells are ringing.

first vehicle is a 2001 Nissan Patherfinder with 83,000 miles and has a year and a half of car payments left ($325). Also, the warrantity runs out at 100,000 miles. Or, a 2003 Pontic Grand Prix with 55.000 miles and no payments left. this car has no warranty left. me and my fiance need to get rid of a car to save money. we live in chicago and need to make the right decision. we only need to hold onto this vehicle for no more than two more years. which car would you keep?????

JD Powers finally ranked Ford higher than toyota and Nissan in recent quality. Doesn't it finally feel good that you now have a domestic car manufacturer that beats Japan's and Europes competition? Now the only thing Ford has to focus on is beating Honda in quality, then they have it made. Ford has also earned the most awards than any car manufacturer in the world!

Someone is offering me his Toyota Camry 1998 LE V6. Apart from the standard features, it has sun-roof, moon-roof, leather interiors and Sony MP3 player. Engine is good. Few minor scratches on the car body. KBB values the car at 6165/ 5650/ 5015 for excellent/ good/ fair conditions with the above mentioned data.

I am going to be the fifth owner. Also, the car was involved in an accident in 2004 and the owner involved in that accident told me that the car slipped on the road due to heavy snow and banged into other cars. Damage happened to the doors, front and most importantly, to the frame of the car. Owner told me that everything was fixed well and it cost him $6000. Car hasn’t given any problem since.

KBB obviously does not account for the accident and 5th owner thing. What would be your suggestions on how much should I buy the car for (the current owner is offering 5100).
