I was offered a lincoln town car, 1999, for like 2,000 dollars, but I dont think it will be worth it because it has almost 300,000 miles, but it was well maintnanced, and is in good condition, but it was used for a cab company, and has sooo many miles. I figured, it might last a while, because, I dont drive that much, and I can always overhaul the engine, but I dont know exactly how long it might last. What do you think, is it worth it?

to be honest about it some of the cab company's take real good care of the engines in their vehicles, and at some point in time it may have had some major work done on it,that's not a bad price,if its a real nice car,but it would really have to be nice to pay that much for it,its 8 years old right now so i think i would really give this a lot of thought, for 2 k you can find a nicer car with less miles on it,good luck ,hope this helps.

One problem is that if it was used by a cab or limosine service, chances are it was maintained daily; someone checked it out each day to be sure it was mechanically sound. Remember it may have been somebody's livelihood. What happens when it's sold to an individual is that the person can't do all that constant maintenance and there's a good chance something major will happen within six months if you buy it and drive it

Do a Carfax check on the vehicle first. A well maintained car can go on for an awefully long time, as if they could not, every state would drop the classic and antique tags. If it checks out on Carfax, run it by a mechanic you trust and ask him afterwards what he would do if offered the vehicle. If he says walk away, then walk away. If he says he would love to have it, you might wanna get it before he does.

Stay away from a cab car Lots and lots of Idle Time and hard city miles. plus shoty maintenace practices. Other than that The 4.6 liter should last for another 100,000 or so but Cab car walk away And buy a car you can count on.

That's a really BAD DEAL!
1) A Lincoln Town Car is a
real gas hog.
2) It's old enough that you will
be putting $$$ into it all the time.
3)Do you really want a cab
company car? Not wise.
4) If you want a cheap car,
look for a little old ladies car.
They are taken care of very
well and have hardly any
wear.

I gotta go with dodge man on this one...with one exception...ask for maintenance records...if they look good then maybe not a bad deal...plus...you can negotiate the price...offer them 1500 if they can give you maintenance records. this is probably a well maintained car. Just keep up the maintenance.

hope this helps

ANY CAR CAN LAST UP TO 500,000 MILES BEFORE GOING BROKE AS LONG AS YOU KEEP UP WITH TUNE UPS OIL CHANGE AND SO ON AND DONT ABUSE IT. I SHOULD KNOW I HAVE A 1987 FORD THUNDERBIRD WITH 650,000 MILES ON IT AND STILL RUNS LIKE A CHAMP.
