SO, my friends parents leased a car and they have about 3 years left on the lease. The problem is is that they are way over the mileage on the lease contract. They are supposed to be at about 26,000 miles right now, but instead they are at 30,000! For every 100 miles they are over they have to pay an extra $100 dollars, and by the time the lease is up they will probably owe about 10 grand! My question is, is there a way that you can stop the lease and just buy the car so they won't end up paying an extra $10,000 or more just to give it back to the dealer in 3 years?

Its a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant with 132k miles on it. It has a broken windshield busted timing belt and minor cosmetic damage. I just wanted to know if I made the right deal for $500 or if it might be worth more to hold out

I have heard that from now on, you can expect to pay £400 per year road tax for 4x4 vehicles. Is this for all types ?

I put a down payment on a 2003 Jeep Liberty, but the title did not clear on the car and they offered me a 2005 Jeep Liberty instead. However, now I have found a better car that I want to put my $1500 deposit on at another dealer. I was given a receipt for a deposit on a 2003 Jeep Liberty, and they have just cashed the check yesterday... can I get my deposit back? The salesman said I would get my deposit back if the 2003 Jeep title did not clear in a week, and there is nothing that says the deposit is non-refundable in the receipt. I did not sign any paperwork.

Has anyone had any problems with their newer model Saturns ('04 and up). It seems that the newer ones might be built a little better. I'm also curious what type of prices you all paid on new ones. I'm sure no matter what this will vary. I am looking at the ION 2 with no additional extras other than an automatic transmission.

I don't want complete junk, though. A little beat up and used or a bad color is ok, but I don't want to have to completely rebuild it.

I just bought a used car and since my interest rate is 21% because of bad credit what are my options. $19,000 financed for 6 years. There is no prepayment penalty. After I get the loan my father in law says he would help. So can I have my father in law cosign for a loan and pay it off that way or do I try to refinance with him after payments are made. Best options would be great...thanks!

I get a corporate discount on Audi and Volvo and I'm having a hard time making a decision on which car is better. Have any of you test driven the A3 or own one?? How does it handle in comparison to the S40? I haven't had time to go myself but intend on going soon.

I had all my payments up to date and next payment wasnt due till this coming Saturday. I had never been late in the 3 1/2 months that I had got the vehicle. I had full coverage insurance from the day the vehicle was driven off the lot. Their "reason for the repossession" I didnt have insurance on the vehicle. I have proof that there was full active coverage on the vehicle from day one. The carlot NEVER requested any proof of insurance before just out of the blue took my vehicle. The carlot didnt care to see what proof I had and told me the only way I would get the vehicle back is to pay it off..which was $10,000.00 . So I paid it off and the carlot slapped me with a repossession fee of $250.00 and stole thousands of dollars of my husbands tools out of the truck. So tell me has anyone ever heard of something like this happening before? Oh one more thing the contract clearly states that the only way a vehicle can be repossessed due to insurance is if insurance is canceled!

my wife and i have one car payment that we aqquired about 16months ago i pay about $50 more on the bill each month. Our intrest rate with our loan company is a little high and my wife thinks that if we refiance that would be better but i would hate to loose out on the extra that i have been paying and gain a longer loan with less of a payment. my thought is to just continue paying the extra...not sure who is right

I bought a "new" car yesterday and found out today that it is not new. It was preowned. It was sold to the first owner at 21miles new. Then sold to me at 1908 miles new. What should I do about this?
