Me and my partner are in our late teens, both new drivers so we know that insurance will rocket, we want a nice car that'll get us from a to b, nothing too fancy... what do u recommend??

mostly reliable and ease to maneuver

Used Toyota or Nissan, those are pretty reliable cars.
Look at the Consumer Reports book (the library always has a copy) or go to the website (I think they charge a fee to get detailed info though), there is a section that lists the best used cars. I know the Toyota Corolla is one of them.
