I recently bought a 2007 Scion from a respectable dealership and it had 1000 miles on it. When I asked about the miles the saleman said that the car was only staff driven to pick people up and drop them off when they had service done to their vehicles. I specifically asked him if it was a rental car and he said NO. I bought it April 3rd and last night found in the very back of the glove box a reciept they must of missed from someone who rented my car!!!! He lied, I feel I could of got more money off of it had I known renters were beating it up. I know it was only 1000 miles but still - the dude lied. What should I do?

I bought a brand new 2006 Toyota Prius (that I absolutely love!) in August 2006. I have almost excellent credit and received a fairly good interest rate, which I believe to be 3.79% (I think, but I don't have the info in front of me right now) with 6 years of payments still left. Ugh. I currently owe $23,100 on it, even though I've made extra payments. This is roughly $5,000 more than what Kelly Blue Book is telling me it is worth. Double ugh.
Up until now, I thought I would drive this thing into the ground, but my plans have changed and I have decided to move to a city where cars are optional, thanks to public transportation! I'd like to sell my car before I move; however this move won't take place until sometime in 2008 and up until then, I'll need to keep my car and keep paying on it.
So, my question is, should I try to refinance now so I won't be "upside down" when I sell it next year? And if I am "upside-down" when I sell it, how do I pay off the difference? With another loan?

I'm from Australia and have noticed cars offered for sale internationally on ebay, for example I have found one that I am interested in that is in England. Has anyone ever brought a car this way? How expensive was it to have it shipped and how did you make payment for the car?

A friend of mine thinks she's got a great deal on a car and she wants to buy it. However, she hasn't passed her test yet but thinks that since she will have the car outside waiting for her, she will have incentive to pass her test.

Has anyone got any advice for her or maybe some real life experiences to tell?

I thought that it sounded like a good deal and a few major parts have been repaired (or so he says). But a blown head gasket? I thought I could drive it home and have it repaired, but will that be possible? Is it hard to replace these things yourself?

I am a "road warrior" sales rep, the kind that will put 3k miles on a car in a mth, so leases are OUT! I need to replace my exsisting cars and because of want/what I'd like to have, & $ budget I've narrowed the choices down to a used Acura (TL/RL) an Audi A6 or Lexus (in the used categorey) or a preowned (I dont want to buy brand new because I dont like the thought of a 20%depreciation) so, Hyundai, everything I read on these cars is good, Nissan, the MAxima or Altima, I would consider a Camry but I drove a baseline model& wasn't too impressed and an Accord but my exwife drives one so....ya know....
Any other suggestions. I would like to stay under 35K and I would definately want a V6 unless there was a 4cy w/ phenominal power.
thx!

I own a Dodge Caravan 2003. Bought it new and now it's about 55K miles. I still owe 2 more years on it. I have always been a Honda girl, but because of the size and features and price, I bought a Caravan at that time. I am ready to move on and I want the new CRV. The payment will be about $75 more a month than what I pay now, but I will be saving more in gas and definitely the resell value will be tons better. My question is, we are financially unstable at the moment, living paycheck to paycheck, with some months that are better than others, since husband works on commission only. Should I make the leap and buy a new car, although it would mean paying more for it, or should I keep my Caravan and pray that besides the monthly payments I still have to make on it for the next 2 years, I won't have to pay much more for repairs since it's extended warranty is over at 70K? Right now I am getting about 19 miles per gallon on the caravan but I know I could be getting about 23-25 on the CRV.

I'm in the market for a new car, I've only previously had used cars -- either this year or last year's models. I'm wanting to go under $20,000 (and pay less than $200 per month in payments). I'm leaning towards a sedan or coupe, rather than a compact just for storage space.

What are the quality models you would recommend, both for looks and performance? When is a good date to buy? Thanks!

It must have a 0-60 under 4 seconds.

It can be modded, but must be reliable.

Prestige and looks are a huge plus.
