I love my Lancer 2004.. Great gas mileage and low maintenance, tires are less expensive too. It has a lot of getup and go, when I need it. I have had no problems with it at all..

IT is an "okay" car, but not one of the better cars in its class. They are cheap because Mitsubishi has a very poor reputation for customer satisfaction & reliability, so they have to be cheap ot compete with better cars like HOnda & Toyota. You are better off with a Honda, Toyota, or Mazda.

You should look in Consumer Reports annual car issue at your local library. Also see if JD Powers has any commentary, though Consumer Reports is better.

I had one as a rental a few years ago, I was not overly impressed and the battery died on me.
