Tell your Grandpa that before choosing, he can see how many formal complaints have been filed against a particular vehicle by searching the NHSTA-odi site.
That's the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration-Office of Defects investigations.
This is where people file complaints AFTER they have bought. That way he can see the complaints BEFORE he decides what to buy!
I'll link the vehicles for you b'cuz the site is not the easiest to navigate, but I'm used to it.
Definatly not the 2007 Camry! WAY too many complaints! 171 as of today & this list grows daily!
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/complain/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2007&make=TOYOTA&model=CAMRY&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES
2007 Nissan Altima - only 14 complaints but you should read them very carfully. Some seem pretty severe safety issues.
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/complain/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2007&make=NISSAN&model=ALTIMA&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES
(also Nissan is in the middle of a class action suit regarding faulty reading odometers, they tick off more miles than are actually occuring, resulting in warranties expiring before thay should....not to mention ...people are 'duped' intoTHINKING that they are getting better gas mileage than they really get!)
2007 Honda Accord- Fewer complaints, only 11 & one complaint is not by an owner, just someone complaining in general.
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/complain/complaintresults.cfm?start=1&SearchType=DrillDown&type=1&year=2007&make=HONDA&model=ACCORD&component_id=0&PrintVersion=YES
But Honda has just fought & lost & is now setteling bthe same type of class action suit as Nissan !

Tell Grandpa he might want to rethink his choices, may I suggest a Ford Fusion or Mercury Milan?
Both MUCH better cars for the money (not to mention the availability of all wheel drive) & in the same 'vein' as far as style & size.
Here's a comparison:

The Toyota SE is a much better handling car than the LE model. It has re-valved struts, slightly stiffer springs, larger sway-bars front and rear and lower profile larger tires. Since we bought ours new in 04 it's been the shop once for a warranty issue. The anti-knock sensor had to be replaced. The only issue other than that was the awful P- 205/60/16 Bridgestone RE-92 tires that came on the car as standard equipment. They hydroplaned terribly and ware totally worthless in any amount of ice or snow. It was a great day when the worthless tires were changed to Yokohama TRZ's I wish I had a new one with the five speed automatic transmission. Being a tall person the adaptability of the seats and telescoping steering column would be great also. Other than that and all my whining the Camry is really a great car.

All good choices. I lean toward the Altima as I am on number 11.
Happy Father's day grandpa. Smooth driving.
By the way, the Altima gets around 35 MPG, something to be considered. I love my 2007 Altima.

The Altima is cheaper, still considered in the same line as the other 2, and has a great warranty. Toyota cost more and Honda warranty is only 3yr/36000. Save your money and buy the altima.
good luck

I have never liked Toyota. They are too....robotic. no emotion brought out on the car. Either Altima or Accord.
