I have a 1962 BSA B40 - almost completed restoration project not used since 1972.

Does anyone know what fuel I should run it on? do I need to use LRP or would unleaded be fine, as it has an alloy head so the valve seats must already be hardened.....

I also need to know what oil should be used. Is it better to stick to old style oil, or to fit an oil filter and use modern combination oil (which grade in either case)? and also the oil level....

If anyone also knows what the tyre pressures should be, chain adjustment and anything else useful I would be very greatful.

Many thanks

I bought my first car about two months ago. I found an ad in the autotrader for a G35, it was an hour away though, but it cost about 5 grand less than anything else near me, so I made the trip. The guy was very nice, it was a private seller, I drove it around for 15 minutes. He wanted 24k, I told him to call me if he wants to sell for 23k; and headed back home. 10 minutes later he calls me back and says okay. I came back 2 days later, wrote him a certified check and love the car.

So what was your first car purchase experience? Were you happy with it?

to 70MPH. This way there should be a reduction on speed related deaths and would mean people being less likely to get points/disqualified/fined etc....I know you would still be able to exceed the limit in 30/40/50 mph areas but at least there would be no excuses on the motorway.... Is it because it is not cost effective?... stifles consumer choice?..government wont benefit from loss of revenue?... or they can be ar$$ed?

I just bought a used 1998 Expedition with 132,000 miles. I'm not sure how work has been done, exept the oil change every 5,000 miles. I've heard of a lot of problems with a hose leaking and shorting out the coil. I'm using this as my towing vehicle and camping trip vehicle so it needs to be reliable(Yes, I know it is a Ford). Any thing I should change to keep it reliable? Any ideas with be appreciated. Thanks

I was looking at the engine oil treatments that are on the market and was wondering if they are actually any good, they make some quite big claims on the bottles

Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of how good they are?

Also, is it worth using them on an engine that has already got 90k on it? (diesel)

Unlike most cars (i think), the door handle is an entire piece (the actual handle and surrounding plastic molding) that is somehow attached to the metal of the car. The entire plastic molding has come loose, and I want to fix it before it gets worse. What kind of glue type substance would a body shop use if I took it to them, and can I just as easily do this myself? Are there any risks involved or anything else I need to know?

My Accord (Automatic) has 98K miles. Its always service at honda dealers.Last Trans service was 76K. Last oil change-3 weeks ago. Last w/e, the problem started suddenly. Was driving 25mph and my car started jerking, felt like it was slipping out of gear. On the freeway, going 40 mph, my RPM was at 4 (4000). I couldn't drive faster because I thought my car was going to overheat. I pulled over n called a tow trunk.

Than it was hard to reverse. Felt like it was in park and I was trying to reverse...I had to turned my car off completely and start it again for it to work.Just my luck, my warranty ran out at 75K. I left my car unused for 2 days and drove it a mechanic shop. At first the test drive was fine, like nothing happened. After driving it on the freeway for about 10 min, thats when it started jerking again, this time, worst. He did a diagnostic and the code 0747 line pressure & 0752 shift sol appeared. Suggested i get it fix before getting a new tranny. Ur advise is soappreciated

Once heard ( credibility of source?) that a turboprop engine always puts out the same RPM's, you increase power or decrease powere by changing the pitch of the prop. Believeable or Bull---. Thanks
