i got a 1400 watt amp 2 channel capable of 4 ohm subs or 2 ohm subs. i got 2 4ohm on it rite now and works fine. im buying 2 new subs that are better. i dont kno if to get 2ohm ones or 4 ohm ones. the way im gona be wiring it is, one sub per channel. so would it be better to get 2 ohm subs or 4 ohm? cuz the ones i got rite now are crap sony's im buying sum alpines, and need to kno either 2ohm or 4 ohm

i dont really run my stero long enough to get alot of heat going, and enegry. i mainly jus drive to work or to school, which is at the mostt 10-15 minutes

2ohm stereo is equivelant to 4ohms bridged = full power.
Get 2ohm subs to get full power from the amp.
Alpines can handle power and i'm will to bet you mean max when you say 1400watts, it's more like 500 i'm sure.

Anyways, good luck with the Alpines. I'm sure you'll notice a huge difference either way.
I'd get 2ohm subs. This way you can turn it up when you 'need' to;)

If you decide to get 2 ohm subs, be sure they are rated for the new power that the amp will push. It's best if you can match the RMS watts of the subs with a channel on the amp at the 2 ohm load.

if you want more power then get the 2 ohm subs,if your happy with the power your pushing at 4 ohms get the 4 ohm subs just remember if you run the amp at 2 ohms its more power,more heat,more distortion and in turns will shorten the life of the amp.

Go with the 4 ohms. It will cut down on the amps that the system pulls. good luck
