What about an engine flush? Is good or not? (Before change to a thicker oil to at least reduce tapping noice?

If you have a tapping noise do not use a flush. Add a quart of Golden State Motor oil to your crankcase. It gets thick and will quieten the tapping some.

Years ago, we would put a half quart of trans fluid in the oil and drive it for a few days...trans fluid has more detergents in it and will sometimes clean out any varnish in a sticky lifter. Drain down some of the oil in the pan first or only add the trans fluid when the oil level is down a half quart so you don't overfill it.
Depending on mileage of the car and condition of the engine, flushing may loosen up crud and sludge and plug up the oil pump intake or allow things to leak but not always. Pull a valve cover off and see how clean or crudded up it looks underneath. If it's fairly clean, I would go with a flush. Tapping lifter could be a couple of other things like a collapsed spring or misadjusted rocker arm---may have other problems that thicker oil and flush won't cure.

If you mean higher viscosity oil to quiet a noise, make sure you don't use anything other than what is recommended by your vehicle manufacturer. Most of today's modern engines are made with extremely tight tolerances, typically in ten thousandths of and inch for bearing clearances. Using an oil with too high a viscosity can result in parts not being lubricated because the oil is unable to get where it needs to be. Lubrication quality is much more than oil thickness. If you have a noise concern in your engine, your best bet is to actually have a qualified technician diagnose and repair it.

NO! engine crankcase flush is very bad, it will loosen all the sludge and drop it into the oil pan, where it will then clog your oil pickup screen, causing you too loose oil pressure and seize the engine.
