I took it to the shop because it would die in an intersection and get all choked and die. I drive it places like to the vet with the dog and to the wood pile to dump off branches etc... I thought I would get it fixed. I also told the mechanic it pulled to the left when I hit the brakes, and I thought it may be a brake problem.
I called yesterday and they put in a re built carberator and a brake calliper on one side and gave me a bill of $601.00.
Is this in the ball park or did they screw me over? What would you expect to pay for this?
I could be paranoid because I am a 42 yr old single female.

What can I do if I bought a truck somewhere and the something went wrong with the brakes right after I bought it and there is nothing they can do to fix it. I believe they said it was something to do with the abs system. It is a certified used vehicle from ford. They are supposed to check these things before they sell them right? What can I do to prove they sold me a faulty vehicle to begin with and well constitute a fraud.

Why oh why oh why do so many fat middle-aged men think that Harley's are "cool"?

There's a Harley showroom near where I live, and every Saturday, regular as clockwork, several dozen aging, greying old men get dropped off at the Harley place by their wives IN FULL LEATHERS and then proceed to "hang out" looking at those travesty of motorcycles before being picked up again an hour or so later.

Best of all though, they all have top-rockers proclaiming their allegience to a certain "chapter".

Do these guys think they're the Hell's Angels? They just look very very sad indeed.

Are you one of the aforementioned "bikers"? If so, why do you do it? Have you no shame or taste? If you want to ride motorbikes, that's cool, but for God's sake, get a DECENT bike. No one thinks you're the Hell's Angels - you are all far too sqeaky-clean, and I'm pretty sure that the half-dozen or so Angels that I know would either find it hilarious, or would be very insulted.

Did they magically drop like they supposedly did in 1997 (urban legend)?

Or did they go up as I predicted in some of my earlier responses to the protest, because the oil companies knew people would have to buy gas today after skipping yesterday?

Bought a '99 Ford Explorer Sport from the dealer in Nov '05, so i've had it 18mos now and they're offering to buy it back. If i still owe on it (which i do), they'll pay off whatever I owe and start on a clean slate w/ a new (i mean new to me, not necessarily brand new) car with no downpayment needed. I still have 28mos left to pay off my current car. I have above average credit but less than 3yrs of credit history. Is it better to just pay off my current car or is this trade-in deal they're offering worth going through with it?

Hello, I am on a hunt for a small car (I love little hatchbacks). However, I also need something with a powerful engine, since all my driving is on highways in southern NY. So far, nothing has really fit the bill, but I thought the ford focus hatchback looked like a great candidate (haven't gotten over there for a test drive yet). However, in the course of my internet search, i can't find any evidence of a focus hatchback with automatic transmission... does it seriously only come in manual? If anyone knows, i'd appreciate some info (and feel free to make personal suggestions, etc.!) Thank you!

My car was backed into a tree. It was very dark, and couldn't see. It broke my light out and also damaged the right of the bumper above the muffler. I have an 06 Chrysler 300C. If I report this to my insurance, do you think my rates will go up? I purchased the lights online last night because the factory ones would be outrageous. I am thinking about just paying for the car to be fixed myself, just so it won't be reflected on my insurance. What does everyone else think?

My 2002 Chevy Impala is having problems...?
I have a 2002 Impala LS and the security message light comes on, then battery picture, then service engine soon message and they keep repeating, at the same time this happens, the air conditioning stops blowing cool air. When I turn the car off, my radio goes to locked and the trunk release pops open. When I go to restart the car, my automatic tracking is off and has to be turned back on. All this only happens when it is about 78 degrees or more outside. Never happens in the morning or when it is under 78 degrees. Sometimes the trunk pops when you open the passenger side door. After I turn the car off and key out my radio and air and lights stay on. It usually only does it when it's hot outside. Also my door locks will go crazy and click over and over. Any advice??
