Not matter what anyone tells me I keep doing oil changes every 3,ooo miles but that's it. When something breaks down we fix it but we don't do anything else. And we usually keep our cars til about 250,000 miles without any major problem.
We gave one to our son about 6 years ago and it is still running. Of course, it's easier when you buy a quality to start with.
Not too long ago we sold a 79 Mercedes Benz SW with 350,000 miles on it. Diesel of course. We only sold it because we went down to 2 vehicles for the 2 of us and I got tired of looking for and waiting on parts. That car will probably go to 450,000 miles or more. And again, nothing but oil changes.

I trust the advice to persist with the motor vehicle handbook's maintenance time table. verify each and every of the fluids oftentimes, even between maintenance artwork. Like, a minimum of, verify your oil, coolant, transmission and brake fluids as quickly as each and every week or so. And make a particular verify till now a protracted holiday.

you should check out pep-boys or mieneke.com
they will be happy to talk to you about every check point, like transmissions check, check all your oils like steering wheel fluid, brake fluid, windshield fluid, and also always check the alignment, and every 6 mnths or so rotate your tires. and keep extra oil and water in the trunk.
