i have a Lexus gs 300 that I am thinking about just posting on one of these websites where people look for opportunities of owning or leasing a leased vehicle that someone else does not want any more

I really am looking to not only put my car on this particular site that deals w/leased vehicles but also to potentially assume a pre existing lease as well.

You've been watching too many commercials from shady car dealers

This could be a problem. First your lease may not be assumable second is you don't actually own the car the leasing company does. You could have serious legal issues unless you get approval from them. You also need to understand that you will still be lilable for lease payments if the other party stops paying or worse yet stops insuring your car. Have you contacted the lease company? What are you going to drive if you do this? Maybe the leasing company can get you into a car you want and take yours in on trade. If you don't want to lease any more I am sure they can sell you a car as well. Most leasing companies are very flexable. What you are proposing to do is not legal in most all of the US.

Yes, there are several web sites that arrange to get people out of leases by matching them up with people willing to assume the balance of the lease.

Someone has already recommended leasetrader.com. Try a google search on getting out of a lease or something similar.

These are not scams, just matching people. You say what you're willing to accept and maybe someone offers. The site handles the details for a fee.
