Did they magically drop like they supposedly did in 1997 (urban legend)?
Or did they go up as I predicted in some of my earlier responses to the protest, because the oil companies knew people would have to buy gas today after skipping yesterday?

Hell no, they went up. it actually $3/gallon here now (at some pumps). One pump said $3.07 and just yesterday it was in the $2.90's

They didn't go down and they didn't go up. Pretty much the same. I don't think oil companies spend all their time on the internet to see who is trying to start a chain for a no gas day protest

Of course not. The only way a protest will ever work is to target one major oil company to boycott for at least a month, promise to boycott the others following the first boycott for at least a month, and then publish the list or schedule for future boycotts.
But getting everyone to cooperate will never work.

Why would they? Consumption for the week would remain the same. People either topped off the day before or stretched it till the following day. Either way, this stupid protest would not have achieved anything. The only way something would change is if people changed their consumption habits for a week or more.

It doesn't matter because no one protested anyway. And if they did, they must not be aware that their boycotting of gas for one day HAS NO IMPACT on the oil companies.
If someone wants to make a difference, they should boycott CARS and start riding their bike...

Nope, gas in one town on my way to work went up 10 cents.

They didn't go up or down. Still $3.55 for regular. I bought mine over the weekend for $3.39. Such a deal :)
